Woven fabric and method for manufacturing same
It is an object to provide a woven fabric which can stably form a folding shape superior in shape retention and followability and which can be sewn while maintaining the folding structure, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the same. There is provided a woven fabric having pleats, wherein the height of the pleats is 2 to 10 times the average diameter of yarns arranged in the same direction as the pleats.
METHOD FOR INSERTING 2D FLAKES OF A TWO-DIMENSIONAL MATERIAL INTO PORES OF A POROUS SUBSTRATE
A method for inserting 2D flakes of a two dimensional material into pores of a porous substrate comprises providing a porous substrate having a plurality of open pores, wherein at least some of the pores contain a gas, applying a liquid dispersion of flexible 2D flakes of a two dimensional material to the porous substrate; subjecting said porous substrate and said liquid dispersion to a vacuum, such that the gas is evacuated from the pores, causing the liquid dispersion to be introduced into the pores and removing the liquid from the pores, so as to leave the 2D flakes in the pores.
Devices and methods for radiative cooling
Devices for radiative cooling and optical waveguiding are provided, wherein the devices comprise a fabric including one or more fibers extending for a length in a longitudinal direction and a plurality of void structures positioned within each of the one or more fibers and extended over the length of each of the one or more fibers. Each of the plurality of void structures is configured to scatter at least a portion of an electromagnetic radiation received thereon to thereby radiatively cool the object.

Systems and methods for constructing noise reducing surfaces
Systems and methods are disclosed for a multi-layered sound absorption structure. The multi-layered sound absorption structure may include a form material, an acoustic material disposed on a surface of the form material, and a construction material disposed on the acoustic material. The acoustic material may couple to the construction material during curing of the construction material. After the construction material is cured, the form material may be removed exposing a least a portion of the acoustic material.

Extruded polyacrylonitrile copolymer
The invention relates to a polymeric fibre derived from a copolymer of polyacrylonitrile and a comonomer. The fibre comprises a metal ion and/or silicon at from about 1 to about 15 wt %. A process for making the fibre is also described.
GERMANIUM FINE PARTICLE INCLUDED FUNCTIONAL MICRO-CAPSULE AND FABRIC COMPRISING THE FUNCTIONAL MICRO-CAPSULE
Proposed are a functional microcapsule processed to contain therein a germanium component having various physiologically active characteristics and a functional textile fabric to which the functional microcapsules are applied. The functional microcapsule includes a lipophilic oil, germanium ore powder or germanium oxide powder dispersed in the oil, and a shell made of a polymer material and containing therein the oil in which the germanium ore powder or germanium oxide powder is dispersed. These proposals may solve the problem of poor resistance to washing and poor washing durability, which have been pointed out as problems with conventional use of germanium, and may facilitate attachment and fixing of germanium to various media.
Articles and methods for dispensing metal ions into laundry systems
Articles and methods for treating textiles and other materials with an antimicrobial compound during laundry and/or drying cycles. The articles include a porous substrate and a core composition that is releasably associated with the substrate and that includes a metal ion having antimicrobial activity. Methods include the use of the articles in laundry and/or drying cycles to provide antimicrobial treatment of the textiles and materials.
