Scoring rule for forming a folding score on a sheet material
A scoring rule for forming a folding score on a sheet material includes a pair of score members with a scoring surface portions with individually asymmetrical flat outer surfaces extending at an angle. The score members press against a first side of the sheet material to cause a pair of laterally spaced fold score lines to be formed on the first side of the sheet material by the scoring surface portions. As the scoring rule engages the sheet material, a second, opposite side of the sheet material is compressed such that rubber-type material of an anvil of the rotary press bulges towards and forces the sheet material into an area between the pair of score members causing a self-contained single longitudinally inwardly extending groove to be formed on the second, opposite side of the sheet material along a line parallel to and positioned between the laterally spaced score lines.
High bulk tissue sheets and products
Spirally wound paper products are disclosed having desirable roll bulk, firmness and softness properties. The rolled products can be made from single ply tissue webs formed according to various processes.
Paint mixture and lint removal method
The present invention provides a paint mixture containing a paint and paper sludge-derived sintered carbonized porous grains, the use of the paint mixture for removing lint, a composite structure containing the paint mixture and a lint removal method for the paper machine in the papermaking process, for the printing and/or copying process, and for the electric control panels in the papermaking mill to prevent piling and sticking troubles and/or fire breakout caused by lint generated during the operation of paper machine and equipment in the paper converting process. The provided paint mixture and method also reduces paper breakages of the paper machine. The provided paint mixture and method is composed of preparation of a mixture of paint and paper sludge-derived sintered carbonized porous grains and then paint, e.g., machines and/or equipment located after the Yankee dryer, steel pipe handrails in a household papers manufacturing mill.
PAPER AND PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING PAPER USING MICROFIBRILLATED CELLULOSE IN THE CELLULOSE PULP
The present invention relates to a papermaking process of kraft paper, sackraft or paperboard comprising adding 1.0 to 1.5% by weight of MFC with a preferred average diameter between 1 and 568 nanometers and starch ranging from 1.0 to 10.0 kg/ton, preferably 5.0 kg/ton, generating a pulp with higher concentration of microfibers and improved strength, and consequently, a final paper with grammage ranging from 60 to 440 g/m.sup.2 and with improved strength properties for use in packaging materials.
Enhanced co-formed meltblown fibrous web
An enhanced, co-formed fibrous web structure is disclosed. The web structure may have a co-formed core layer sandwiched between two scrim layers. The core layer may be formed of a blend of cellulose pulp fibers and melt spun filaments. The scrim layers may be formed of melt spun filaments. Filaments of one or both of the scrim layers, and optionally the core layer, may also be meltblown filaments. The core layer may include consolidated masses of cellulose pulp fibers to, for example, enhance texture and cleaning efficacy of a wet wipe made from the structure. The material forming the consolidated masses may be selected and/or processed so as to cause the masses to have reduced visual discernibility relative the surrounding areas of the structure, when the fibrous web structure is wetted. A method for forming the structure, including formation and inclusion of the consolidated masses, is also disclosed.
Header for packaging a roll of paper
There is provided a header for packaging a roll of paper having two opposite roll ends and an outer roll surface extending between the roll ends, the outer roll surface being wrapped with a wrapping paper. The header comprises a cellulosic fiber based substrate having two surfaces and a film coated to at least a portion of one of the substrate surfaces. The film is coated to the substrate surface by extrusion of a coating comprising a mLLDPE resin. The film coated surface is heat sealable to an outside surface of an interior header affixed to one of the roll ends, thereby forming a protective cap at the roll end. The header generates less volatile compounds and/or carbon monoxide compared to a header coated with a standard LDPE, on heat sealing conditions.
HIGH ENERGY DRYING METHOD TO FORM A CONTINUOUS PLASTIC FILM ON A SUBSTRATE
This application is directed to methods for applying a petroleum-based thermoplastic resin (PTR) film to a substrate. A PTR emulsion or dispersion is applied to a substrate to form a PTR coating. The PTR coating is then photonically heated on the substrate. Photonically heating the PTR coating on the substrate comprises removing solvent and melting the PTR to form a continuous film.
Folding score and method and apparatus for forming the same
A folding score having a pair of laterally spaced, parallel scoring grooves which are individually asymmetrical. This invention also relates to a method and apparatus for forming the folding score.
