WATER-BASED ADHESIVE FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF LAMINATED CELLULOSIC BOARDS COMPRISING MONOLAYER GRAPHENE OXIDE, LAMINATED CELLULOSIC BOARDS OBTAINED THEREWITH, AND METHODS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
A water-based adhesive for the manufacture of laminated cellulosic boards includes monolayer graphene oxide as a glue enhancer. Laminated cellulosic boards may be obtained by providing cellulosic plies, applying a water-based adhesive, and contacting the surface of another cellulosic ply to the first cellulosic ply. A method for producing the water-based adhesive includes mixing starch, water and glue enhancer. The glue enhancer is a suspension of between 0.1 wt % and 0.001 wt % of monolayer graphene oxide in water.
BOARD, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A BOARD AND A PANEL COMPRISING SUCH BOARD MATERIAL
Boards have a mineral content, including magnesiumoxychloride and/or magnesiumoxysulphate, and may be finished with a DPL laminate decorative layer.
MOLDABLE CELLULOSE FIBER BASED MATERIAL
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing modified cellulose fibers for a moldable cellulose fiber based material, said method comprising: a) providing a chemical or semi-chemical wood pulp comprising cellulose fibers, and optionally subjecting the pulp to alkaline extraction to obtain an alkaline extracted pulp; and b) subjecting the pulp or the alkaline extracted pulp of step a) to a chemical treatment with an alkaline solution and/or an organic solvent to obtain a treated pulp or treated alkaline extracted pulp comprising modified cellulose fibers for a moldable cellulose fiber based material. The invention further relates to a moldable cellulose fiber based material comprising at least 70% by dry weight of modified cellulose fibers obtainable by the method.
Combustion of streams derived from hot water extraction of wood material
Various techniques are described for enhanced combustion of hot water extraction (HWE) derived liquor. For example, the HWE derived liquor can be pre-treated prior to introduction into a combustion chamber. The pre-treatment can include subjecting HWE derived liquor to filtration to remove suspended solids, evaporation to produce a first stage concentrated HWE liquor; additional concentration to produce a second stage concentrated HWE liquor; additional filtration to remove additional suspended solids; and pre-heating to produce a preheated HWE liquor. The preheated HWE liquor can be atomized and combined with pre-heated combustion air supplied into a combustion chamber to effect combustion of the HWE derived liquor.

A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A NON-WOVEN GRASS FIBRE PRODUCT
A process for producing a non-woven grass fibre product comprises providing a grass fibre biomass obtained by aerobic fermentation of a meadow grass slurry and removal of digestible elements released during aerobic fermentation, mixing and shaping the grass fibre biomass to form a non-woven grass fibre mat, and binding and drying the mat to form the non-woven grass fibre product.
FIBERBOARD MANUFACTURED WITH CELLULOSE NANOFIBRILS AS A BINDER AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
Fiberboard sheet materials containing cellulosic fibers ae disclosed in which cellulose nanofibrils are used as a binder for adhering the cellulosic fibers together. The cellulose nanofibrils are present in an amount of 0.5% to 7.5% by weight on a dry weight basis of the fiberboard sheet. The fiberboard sheet materials have strength properties that meet or exceed the requirements in ASTM C208, and are useful for structural sheathing and roofing board applications. A process for manufacturing the fiberboard sheet is also disclosed.
