A rail damping system containing one or more such rail damper mounting apparatus is also disclosed. With at least three clipping points/areas in the mount apparatus, it provides a strong clipping force compressing the wedge-liked rail foot by a very stiff clip.

Disclosed is a novel methodology for vibration and noise control using modular rail particle damper in rail transit systems, which comprises steps: determining a target damper module corresponding to a vibration frequency content of a rail system, multiple target damper modules are adopted; connecting target damper module by adopting a connecting module so as to form a rail particle damper; and installing rail particle damper at rail web to conduct vibration and noise control on the rail system. Target damper modules are connected through connecting modules to form an integrated rail particle damper, a wide vibration mitigation frequency range is formed by adopting different target damper modules, and therefore rail particle damper is suitable for reducing broadband vibration and noise generated in rail systems under different operating environments.

A magnetic induction heating system for a railroad switch crib is a system that prevents the accumulation of ice or snow on or around the railroad switch crib area which can cause malfunction of the railroad switch components. To do so, the system includes at least one coil assembly that can be mounted under the railroad crib space between adjacent ties. The at least one coil assembly is designed to generate an oscillating electromagnetic field that agitates the atoms of the different metal components of the railroad crib space so that the metal components radiate enough heat that melts any accumulated ice or snow around the components. The at least one coil assembly can also be used to heat the railroad switch drive motor assembly by placing the at least one coil assembly under the motor drive unit to keep the unit free of ice or snow accumulation.

Compressible sealing element and use thereof for filling the gap between a stock rail and a switch rail in a railway switch

The compressible sealing element (1) comprises at least one piece made of a resilient foam (17). This foam has an open-cell content of at least 50% and has such a hardness that it requires a force of less than 2000 N to compress the sealing element (1) per meter length thereof to such an extent that the volume of a rectangular cuboid circumscribing the sealing element is reduced by 40%. The sealing element comprises a water-impermeable cover layer (18) which extends at least over its top surface. The sealing element is intended for filling at least partially the gaps between the stock rails (13) and the switch rails (12) in a railway switch to prevent the switch from being blocked in particular by snow. Advantages of the new sealing element is that it can easier be inserted in these gaps and that it has a smaller effect on the force required to close the switch so that it can also be applied closer to the free extremity of the switch rail (12).
