EXCAVATOR RAILCAR
A railcar configured to transport a payload, the open-topped railcar including left and right sidewalls, forward and rear sidewalls, a left track, and a right track. The left and right sidewalls extend vertically from the floor and include upper edges. The forward and rear sidewalls extend vertically from the floor between the left and right sidewalls to form a payload bay. The left track is positioned near the left sidewall and spaced above the floor and below the upper edge of the left sidewall. The right track is positioned near the right sidewall and spaced above the floor and below the upper edge of the right sidewall. The left track and right track may include a number of pedestals spaced apart from each other and a number of ramps angled diagonally upward from some of the pedestals to upper edges of the forward and rear sidewalls. The left and right tracks are configured to support an independent material moving machine at least partially in the payload bay and/or between the left and right sidewalls.
PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CARRYING OUT TRACK WORK
A processing system for carrying out track work includes a rail vehicle having a processing device and a monitoring device for defining and monitoring a permissible working space for the rail vehicle. The processing system further includes a position measuring device for determining a position of the rail vehicle. The rail vehicle is controlled to carry out the track work by using a control device in dependence on the determined position and the defined working space. A method for carrying out track work is also provided.
RUBBERIZED ASPHALT COATINGS FOR BALLASTED TRACK AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An example method for forming a track system includes: providing track ties configured to support rails; providing stone ballast configured to support the track ties; and disposing a layer of rubberized asphalt coating between the ballast and the track ties, the rubberized asphalt coating having a bituminous binder, crumb rubber particles, and small gradation stone aggregate; wherein resiliency of the layer of rubberized asphalt coating permits particles of the ballast in direct contact with the layer of rubberized asphalt coating to move elastically relative to the bottom of the tie and to each other while inhibiting abrasion of adjacent ones of the particles of the ballast against each other and against the bottom of the track ties.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WORKING ON A TRACK WITH A TRACK MAINTENANCE MACHINE
The invention relates to a control and operating system for working on a track with a track maintenance machine, with at least one machine frame movable on rail-based running gears, comprising working devices , a sensor and measuring system for recording the position data of the working devices and for detecting objects of the track, in particular sleepers, rails, and, as the case may be, obstacles, and further comprising an arrangement of cameras for optical detection of the working devices and the working areas. It is provided that a control station without free visual range of a respective working device is set up at a location inside or outside the track maintenance machine and that the control station comprises a display device for virtual operation, control, and/or monitoring of the track maintenance machine. This achieves greater flexibility during working operation, an extension of the controlling and operating options, and a significant increase in safety and ergonomic design at the workstation.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR JOINING POWER RAIL SEGMENTS
A modular structure supports elevated rail segments for delivering electrical power to a moving work machine, such as a hauler at a mining site. End portions of rail segments having narrower widths than body portions of the rail segments are joined within a split fishplate. Laterally opposing faces within the narrowed end portions form a longitudinal overlap, and connectors underneath the rail segments pull the split fishplate together against the end portions. In arrangements with parallel rails around a curvature, the rail segments are adjusted by sliding so that the longitudinal overlap is larger for rails on an inside of the curvature compared with rails on an outside of the curvature.

PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING TRACK WORK
A processing system has at least one multi-axis robot for performing track work. The processing system includes an enclosure in the form of a container for receiving the at least one multi-axis robot and at least one displacement device for displacing the at least one multi-axis robot between a transport position inside the enclosure and a working position outside the enclosure. This enables track work to be carried out in a simple, flexible, safe and reliable manner.

Rail clamp with straight line tool
The present disclosure generally relates to a rail vehicle that includes a chassis and a rail clamp assembly coupled to the chassis. The rail clamp assembly includes a fixed central member and a pair of lugs each extending outwardly from opposing sides of the fixed central member. The rail clamp assembly further includes a pair of arms respectively coupled to the lugs to thereby provide respective pivot points to permit rotation of the arms about the pivot points. A pair of gripping tool assemblies are disposed at respective lower portions of the arms and are coupled to one another via a guide rod.
Versatile light rail bed paver
A concrete finishing and forming machine adapted for rail trackbed deck construction accommodates various plinths and channels needed for light rail construction. The adjustably configurable machine comprises a rigid frame disposed above a deck by vertically upright, adjustable jack stands supported at their bottoms by wheeled, powered bogies adapted to traverse upon suitable rails on opposite sides of the deck. The jack-stands may be connected to supporting swing arms that extend from pivot sleeves enabling the jack stands to angularly swing out from the frame. A slidable carriage that is longitudinally displaceable within the frame supports at least one downwardly extending, vertically adjustable paving head having a tool that, when immersed within wet concrete and then horizontally displaced, strikes off elongated, smoothed channels resembling pathways upon the concrete. The heads are longitudinally displaceable relative to the carriage so they may be spaced apart such that plinth strips are concurrently formed between the channels.
