A modular pavement slab comprises a body, a strain sensor array, and a sensor processor. The body includes a top surface, a bottom surface, and four side surfaces. The modular pavement slab is configured to be coupled to at least one other modular pavement slab via connectors along at least one of the side surfaces. The strain sensor array is retained within the body and is configured to detect a plurality of strains on the body resulting from vehicular traffic across the top surface of the body. The sensor processor is in communication with the strain sensor array. The sensor processor is configured to communicate input signals to the strain sensor array, receive output signals from the strain sensor array, and determine a plurality of time-varying strain values, each strain value indicating a strain experienced over time by a successive one of a plurality of regions of the body.

A fill blocker to block a gap between two paving stones each having a side face facing each other and an outer face wherein the fill blocker prevents filling material inserted between the paving blocks to escape through the gap. The fill blocker comprising a body comprising an interior face having two abutting portions and a fill-blocking portion therebetween; and a holding component extending from the interior face adapted to be wedged between the side faces. The fill blocker is adapted to have the holding component inserted in the gap between the side faces and be wedged therein with the abutting portions abutting the outer faces of the paving stones and thereby blocking the gap.

UTILITY DUCTS AND VAULTS FOR VEHICLE/PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

A system for enclosing a utility line under a roadway or footway includes a plurality of modular walls formed from a polymer material, wherein the modular walls combine to form a duct unit defining an interior volume therewithin and having open axial ends. The system further includes a polymer plate overlaying the duct unit, a quantity of granular base material overlaying the polymer plate, and a plurality of interlocking paving blocks overlaying the granular base material, wherein the plurality of paving blocks combine to form a surface for accommodating foot or vehicular traffic. Further, the system includes one or more brackets removably fixed in the duct unit for holding the utility line within the interior volume.

Pedestal Mounted Paver Heating System
