Water and space saving bathroom components especially useful for a comfort station. Included are a novel toilet having a cistern with a sink in combination with the toilet, a novel waterless urinal and a hand sanitizer dispensing station. The sink is an integrally formed sink into the top of the cistern and has a drain formed into the sink for draining effluent from the sink into the toilet cistern. A faucet is installed in the surface of the sink to provide a clean water source for hand washing and the like that generates grey water after washing. The waterless urinal can be plumbed and mounted to a comfort station wall or on a mobile stand, while the hand sanitizer dispensing station may be adapted for multiple dispensers. The dispensers may be mounted at different heights to accommodate adults, children and disabled persons in wheelchairs.

A toilet includes a tank, a pedestal, and a mounting assembly. The tank includes a bottom wall. The bottom wall includes an opening and a bottom surface. The pedestal includes an opening and a top surface. The opening of the pedestal is aligned with the opening of the bottom wall. The mounting assembly includes a mounting plate, a nut, and a gasket. The mounting plate is configured to be coupled to the pedestal and includes an opening aligned with the opening of the pedestal. The nut holds the mounting plate against the bottom surface of the bottom wall and includes a rounded portion. The gasket is disposed about the opening of the pedestal and along the top surface of the pedestal and includes a concave surface that is configured for receiving the rounded portion of the nut.

Liquids and viscoelastic material repellent and anti-biofouling coatings

A process for preparing a repellant smooth surface includes applying a coating composition onto a smooth surface of a substrate having hydroxyl functional groups thereon and an average roughness Ra of less than 4 μm. The coating composition includes: (i) a polymerizable silane or siloxane or both selected from the group consisting of dimethyldimethoxysilane, dimethoxy-methyl(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)silane, dimethoxy(methyl)octylsilane, diethoxydimethylsilane, (ii) a solvent and (iii) an acid catalyst. The process further includes polymerizing the silane or siloxane or both from the hydroxyl functional groups on the smooth surface of the substrate to form a chemical layer of graft polymers having ends anchored to the smooth surface and applying a lubricant coating over the formed chemical layer to adhere and maintain the lubricant on the smooth surface and form a lubricant-entrenched smooth surface as the repellant smooth surface.

LIQUIDS AND VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL REPELLENT AND ANTI-BIOFOULING COATINGS

A coated smooth surface of a substrate repels liquids and viscoelastic materials and can have anti-staining and anti-biofouling properties. The smooth surface can be coated by applying a chemical layer on the surface and a lubricant. Such coated surfaces are useful for use in toilets, urinals, or other devices for the processing of liquids and viscoelastic materials such as solid or semi-solid metabolic waste of human digestive system. Such coated surfaces can also be applied to windows for buildings or vehicles such as automobiles or camera lenses to repel liquids (e.g. rain), ice, frost, insect residues, and birds' feces.

Environmentally-friendly hot water delivery system

A joint connects to a hot water source, a toilet tank of a toilet, and a hot water outlet. A set of pipes connecting the hot water source and the joint may be referred to herein as “main hot water pipes.” Water exiting the hot water source into the main hot water pipes is above a desired water temperature. As time passes, however, water that rests in the main hot water pipes may fall below the desired water temperature. Rather than wasting all of the cooled water resting in the main hot water pipes in order to use hot water at the hot water outlet, at least a portion of the cooled water may be used to refill the toilet tank. Therefore less cooled water exits the hot water outlet before fresh water reaches the hot water outlet.

URINAL FLUSH ASSEMBLY

A flush assembly for a plumbing fixture, the assembly comprising a sprayer body, wherein the sprayer body comprises a bottom wall, a front wall, and a rear wall, the sprayer body is configured to be in fluid communication with a water source, and the sprayer body bottom wall comprises a first outlet through which flush water is delivered during a flush cycle. The first outlet may comprise a slot shape and/or an arc slot shape. The flush assembly provides a large flush profile.

Systems, methods, and devices relating to urinal, in some examples having a movable portion able to pivot from a generally closed to a generally open position. The urinal may have a drain line engaged with a proximal end of the funnel for conveying urine and rinse water into a sewer line or a toilet bowl and a rinse line coupled with a water supply for rinsing urine therein. The urinal may be movable with the assistance of one or more sensors that may automatically signal other electrical or mechanical components to move one or more portions of the urinal, and may be include elements that seal portions of the urinal when not in use or during cleaning to reduce gas or liquid escaping from the urinal system.

Auxiliary water receptacle apparatus

For combination with a flush toilet water tank having a side wall, a pond water receptacle integrated with said tank side wall at the exterior of the tank, the receptacle opening upwardly, there being a water passage through the tank side wall, whereby pond water in the receptacle has a gravity determined top level at approximately the same level as water in the tank, and a removable cover extending over water in the receptacle, protecting against contaminated pond water gaining access to tank water.

TOILET WATER LEAK AND FLOOD PREVENTION
20170356559 · 2017-12-14 ·

Proactive methods and articles of manufacture are disclosed for preventing any water leak or flooding of a toilet. These methods and systems can replace or be added to the water system of existing toilets, especially the North American toilets, which use water tanks. In various embodiments the water is turned OFF and prevented to enter the toilet tank before the flush handle is activated and/or before a user is sensed. In some embodiments each flushing of the toilet permits the toilet tank to only fill once. If a leak causes the tank to empty, water is not permitted to fill the leaking tank until the next time the flush handle is activated. In some other embodiments each flushing of the toilet and/or sensing of a user permits the toilet tank to fill a predetermined number of times.
