Fastener With Preset Securing Member
A bushing includes an upper collar with a lower sheath and an annular shoulder intermediate the collar and sheath. The collar has a plurality of spaced apart notches and the sheath has a plurality of spaced apart slits that may be circumferentially aligned with the notches. The sheath has a plurality of spaced apart ribs projecting outward circumferentially offset from the slit for assisting in maintaining the sheath within a hole in a fastener with the annular shoulder against the fastener. A securing member with an elongate shank extending from a head with a distal portion is maintained in the longitudinal opening in an upright position aligned with the hole. As the fastener is driven longitudinally through the opening and hole, force from the fastener causes the bushing to break away and yields direct contact between the securing member head against the top surface of the fastener.
RAIL STRUCTURE AND BALCONY COMPRISING THE RAIL STRUCTURE
The object of the invention is a rail structure and a balcony, which comprise two or more rail sections (5, 6) at an angle with respect to each other, at least some of which rail sections (5, 6) comprise a top profile (5a, 6a) a bottom profile (5b, 6b) and a wall section (7) connecting them, which wall section is fastened at its bottom edge to the bottom profile (5b, 6b) and at its top edge to the top profile (5a, 6a). At least some of the rail sections (5, 6) are arranged to transmit a load exerted on themselves to the bottom profile of the rail section next to themselves via the wall section (7) of the rail section next to themselves.
Wall structure with horizontal base stud
A wall structure having a horizontal base stud, which wall structure has an upper wall panel, and a horizontal base stud, wherein the base stud has openings to allow for liquids to escape in the event of a plumbing leak, and additional openings to allow for air flow from the exterior to the interior of the wall structure.
Pre-fabricated structures and methods
Building structures can be fabricated at an offsite, and then assembled at the construction site. The building structures can include beams and wall panels having metal attachments. The beams and wall panels can be assembled by coupling the metal attachments, for example, by welding.
Hidden clip and fastening system for decking
One or more hidden clips can be efficiently fastened and mounted to decking planks, e.g., with a tool or manually. A plurality of hidden clips can be included with a strip of clips and separated by a frangible section or tab located between adjacent clips. Each hidden clip can include one or more compression tabs having a sloped or angled cross member transversely extending between first and second extending elements to improve decking fixation.
Post-to-beam fastener
Various embodiments provide a post-to-beam fastener including a head, a tip, and a threaded shank connected to the head at a first end and the tip and a second end. In various embodiments, threaded shank includes a longitudinal axis extending from the head to the tip, and the tip includes a recess operable to removably receive a drill bit to the fastener.
Erecting frame and protective skin shelter system
A shelter system having an erecting frame system and a protective skin system. The erecting frame system has at least two A-frame legs and at least one tensioning element. The A-frame legs each comprise at least one elongated structural member, each of the A-frame legs coalescing with at least one other A-frame leg with at least one connection. The tensioning element is at least temporarily affixed to a free end of each of the at least two A-frame legs, and comprises at least one elongated structural element capable of generating a tension force to draw the free ends of the A-frame legs towards one another, thereby at least temporarily lifting the connection to a predetermined height above the free end of each A-frame leg. A protective skin system is also provided with at least one side plane, one roof plane, and one end plane. The side plane is disposed between two A-frame legs; the roof plane is concordant with the ground surface; and the end plane is disposed between two A-frame legs of a constituent A-frame leg pair and a ground surface. The planar element of the protective skin system provides at least a partial barrier from a ballistic threat to a volume behind the planar element, the loading of the protective skin system being transferred at least in part first to the erecting frame system and ultimately to the ground surface.
Building structure formed by truss modules and method of forming
Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a modular building structure. A plurality of structural truss modules are provided. Each one of the structural truss modules includes a spaced pair of elongated wood chords and a web connecting the elongated wood chords. The web including a plurality of metal support rods each having a pair of opposed threaded sections. The first of the pair of opposed threaded sections engaged to a first one of the elongated wood chords at an angle thereto. The second of the pair of opposed threaded sections engaged to the other one of the elongated wood chords at an angle thereto. The structural truss modules are cut to a predetermined length. A first member is connected between the spaced pairs of elongated wood chords. First ends of the plurality of structural truss modules are configured to connect to a ledger member.
Modular trussed suspended platform
A trussed suspended modular platform having uniform weigh distribution for use as a platform to construct a temporary shelter such as a tent or other structure or to hold or hang equipment and other materials off the ground. The modular geometric design includes a polygon shaped center cell, a plurality of polygon shaped body cells, and a plurality of polygon shaped edge cells forming the platform edge and corners, each corner having an anchor bar with attachment holes and hardware for attaching the platform to support posts and for attaching a center extended truss hub structure positioned over the center cell with truss cables extending from the hub to anchored platform corners. The modular design allows for use as a sturdy suspend able mobile platform with trussing system that allows for assembly and disassembly in the field without need for an even ground surface or footings.
