Locking mechanism including energy storage

Certain aspects of the technology disclosed herein include an apparatus and method for storing energy in a electromechanical lock. The electromechanical lock can include a main housing and a deadbolt. The main housing can be configured to extend a deadbolt along a path to lock and/or unlock a door. The deadbolt can have a hollow inner region configured to receive an energy storage device. The energy storage device within the deadbolt can be electrically connected to the main housing. The energy storage device can be used to power an actuator and/or accelerometer in the main housing.

A lock assembly comprising a throw bolt, a bolt holder and a bolt keeper. The bolt comprises a cutting barrier and a bolt casing, the bolt casing being more corrosion-resistant than the cutting barrier, and the cutting barrier being more abrasion-resistant that the bolt casing. When assembled, the cutting barrier will be enclosed within the bolt casing.

In a lid opening and closing device for a vehicle, a restriction member restricting movement of a rod and an electric motor driving the restriction member are housed in a case fixed to a vehicle body outer plate. An emergency operation member extends movably through a vehicle body inner plate while enabling the restriction member to move when the electric motor malfunctions, the emergency operation member being resiliently urged toward an initial position side at least when being operated. A grommet for preventing intrusion of water is provided between the emergency operation member and the vehicle body inner plate. The grommet includes a grommet main portion liquid-tightly mounted on the vehicle body inner plate while having the emergency operation member movably inserted therethrough, and an elastic portion integrally connected to the grommet main portion while enabling the emergency operation member to be resiliently urged toward the initial position side.

DEADBOLT ASSEMBLY

A lock mechanism having a bolt movable between a thrown position and a retracted position, and a deadbolt assembly includes a sliding deadbolt configured to slide between a locked position in which the sliding deadbolt inhibits retraction of the bolt and an unlocked position. The sliding deadbolt includes a first anti-thrust cam configured to restrain the sliding deadbolt in the locked position, and a release driver arranged such that, when driven, the release driver releases the first anti-thrust cam from restraining the sliding deadbolt in the locked position and slides the deadbolt to the unlocked position.

Resiliently mounted strike plate of an electromagnetic door lock

A strike plate mounting bolt assembly for resiliently mounting a strike plate to a door. The strike plate mounting bolt assembly includes a bolt and a post wherein the bolt is securably engageable with the post. The bolt is inserted through a bore in the door and the post is inserted through a bore in the strike plate. A resilient member such as at least one Belleville washer is disposed between a head of the post and a cavity in the strike plate wherein the at least one Belleville washer is compressed between the post head and cavity upon securing the bolt and post together to provide a resilient mount between the door and strike plate. The at least one Belleville washer may be a number of Belleville washers selectable stacked to form a pack of Belleville washers. By varying the number and orientation of the Belleville washers, the force/deflection characteristics of the pack may be tuned to accommodate the needs of a variety of electromagnetic lock design features.

Interchangeable latch assembly for an exit device

A door latch system comprises an interchangeable latch assembly for securing a door to a door frame. The interchangeable latch assembly comprises a head and a latch mounted to the head. The latch is moveable between latched and unlatched positions. A driven member is operatively connected to the latch, the driven member moveable to latch or unlatch the latch. The door latch system further comprises a universal actuating assembly removably couple-able to the interchangeable latch assembly. The universal actuating assembly comprises a mounting bracket and a driving member releasably coupled to the driven member. Actuation of the universal actuating assembly translates the driving member and the driven member, moving the latch to the unlatched position. A first interchangeable latch assembly may be swapped with a second interchangeable latch assembly without requiring modification of the universal actuating assembly.

Apparatus for barricading an inwardly swinging door to provide physical security

A stop to barricade a door from forced entry. The stop includes an upper portion designed to contact the door to barricade it against forced entry, and a lower portion that fits within a receptacle that is recessed into the floor. The stop can be removed from the receptacle when the user doesn't desire to barricade the door. When the stop is placed in the receptacle, the stop is preferably configurable by the user in two modes: a first that allows the user to slightly open the door by a gap, and a second that barricades the door when it is shut. Barricading the door in this second mode is beneficial because it allows the user to look through the gap to verify the identity of a person on the outside of the door, and/or to receive an item through the gap while not opening the door completely.

ALIGNMENT GUIDE FOR A DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY

A door handle assembly includes an interior chassis, an exterior chassis, and an alignment guide. The interior chassis includes an interior trim portion, an interior handle mount rotatably attached to the interior trim portion, and an interior spindle portion rotatable with the interior handle mount. The exterior chassis includes an exterior trim portion, an exterior handle mount rotatably attached to the exterior trim portion, an exterior spindle portion rotatable with the exterior handle mount and axially aligned with the interior handle mount, and a mounting post extending toward the interior chassis from the exterior trim portion offset from the exterior spindle portion. The alignment guide is removably attached to the interior trim portion and is formed of a resilient material. The alignment guide extends toward the exterior chassis from the interior chassis and includes an aperture aligned to receive the mounting post.

Modular lock plug

A plug assembly including a plug, a sidebar movably mounted on the plug, and a plurality of rack pins seated in the plug. The sidebar is biased to an outer position in which the sidebar extends beyond an outer surface of the plug. Each rack pin includes a key-following leg and a sidebar-engaging leg. The sidebar-engaging leg includes at least one true gate. When a true gate of each rack pin is aligned with the sidebar, the sidebar is free to move radially inward to an inner position.
