Remote Starter System with Flushable Antenna
A remote vehicle starter system having an antenna that can be flashed to operate in a one-way mode or a two-way mode, such that a user will be permitted a trial period to test the remote starter system in both modes and then the user can select the desired mode by flashing the antenna via link up to a website. The user is charged a price for the remote starter system based on the mode selected by flashing.
Systems and methods for controlling power generation and transmission output speed for marine propulsion devices
A method for controlling a marine propulsion device having an engine rotatably engaged with a transmission via a clutch, and rotatably engaged with a charging device for charging a battery. The method includes measuring a voltage of the battery and comparing the voltage to a minimum threshold. The method further includes increasing a speed of the engine when the voltage is below the minimum threshold, and also increasing a slip of the clutch when the speed of the engine is increased in response to the voltage being below the minimum threshold.
Coating
A method of assessing the quality of a bond coat for bonding a ceramic coating to a metallic substrate comprises determining a thresholded summit area for the bond coat.

Method for diagnosing the dynamics of a sensor in the fresh air or exhaust gas tract of internal combustion engines
A method for diagnosing the dynamics of a sensor in the fresh air or exhaust gas tract of internal combustion engines, as well as a computer program, a computer program product and a corresponding vehicle. It is provided that a corresponding sensor for measuring a pressure signal in the fresh air or exhaust gas tract of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, which is coupled with a control and computing unit, is checked with respect to its dynamic characteristics. Measured values of differing frequency ranges are measured, these being used as the basis for a calculation of a characteristic. After the calculation, the characteristic is compared with a threshold value stored in a user-defined manner in the control and computing unit. If the calculated characteristic deviates from the threshold value, at least one triggering signal is triggered, so that an impaired sensor dynamic of the sensor is displayed.
Non-collapsible flexible sealing membrane and seal assembly for rotary shaft equipment
A non-collapsible flexible sealing membrane (or bellows) for incorporation in a mechanical seal assembly and use in rotary shaft equipment. The sealing membrane includes a substantially radially outward extending first flange portion, which can be urged into an axially shiftable ring by a biasing mechanism. The sealing membrane further includes a substantially axially outboard extending second coaxial portion, substantially radially inward of the balance diameter of the seal. The horizontal portion is advantageously held fixed to a stub sleeve by an annular band. The angle between the vertical portion and the horizontal portion of sealing membrane enables directional control of the forces acting on stub sleeve and primary ring.

Direct injection fuel injection valve
A direct injection fuel injection valve includes a valve casing housing therein a valve member and fitted into an engine main body of an internal combustion engine. The casing includes: a tubular case member; and a valve seat member joined to one end part thereof and having a valve seat and a fuel injection hole. The valve member can be in contact with and detached from the valve seat. The injection hole is opened and closed by cooperation between the valve seat and the valve member. At least part of the valve seat member is exposed to a combustion chamber of the engine main body. Fuel can be injected into the combustion chamber via the injection hole. The valve seat member is formed from a martensitic stainless steel having a PI value of at least 19, containing at least N, and having a C content of no greater than 0.3%.
Steam turbine
A steam turbine 10 according to an embodiment includes rotor blades 22 implanted to a turbine rotor 21, stationary blades 26 making up a turbine stage together with the rotor blades 22, diaphragm outer rings 23 including an annular extending part 24 surrounding a periphery of the rotor blades 22, and supporting the stationary blades 26, and diaphragm inner rings 25 supporting the stationary blades 26. The steam turbine 10 further includes an annular slit 40 formed at an inner surface of the diaphragm outer ring 23 between the stationary blades 26 and the rotor blades 22 along a circumferential direction, and communication holes 50 provided in plural at an outer surface of the diaphragm outer ring 23 along the circumferential direction, communicated to the annular slit 40 from the outer surface side, and communicated to an exhaust chamber sucking water films via the annular slit 40.
SIDE CHANNEL BLOWER, ESPECIALLY FOR A VEHICLE HEATER
A heater side channel blower includes a blower housing (12) with a bottom wall (14) and a circumferential wall (16), that enclose a first flow chamber in a housing interior (18). A ring-shaped delivery duct (22), open towards an outer side of the blower housing (12), is provided at the bottom wall (14). A flow medium inlet (50), for the entry of medium to be delivered into the housing interior (18), is open towards the first flow chamber. A second flow chamber (42) is provided in the housing interior (18). A flow medium outlet (52), for the discharge of medium to be delivered from the housing interior (18), is open towards the delivery duct (22) to the second flow chamber (42). The first flow chamber is separated from the second flow chamber (42) by at least one chamber separation element (60, 62) that is permeable to medium to be delivered.
