Acoustic damper for gas turbine combustors with orthogonal slots
An acoustic damper includes a low porosity layer section and a housing. The low porosity layer section is formed in a liner of a gas turbine combustor and has an arrangement of elongated generally S-shaped slots formed therein. The housing has a plurality of feed apertures. The housing is coupled to the low porosity layer section thereby defining a cavity such that air outside the housing is configured to flow through the apertures and through the elongated generally S-shaped slots in the low porosity layer section, thereby transforming acoustic energy into thermal energy and aiding in providing an acoustic dampening effect for the gas turbine combustor during operation thereof.
After treatment system for a vehicle
An after treatment system (ATS) for a vehicle having an ATS module includes, fluidly connected in series, an inlet, a Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), a urea mixer and a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and an outlet. The inlet is fluidly connected to an output of an engine of the vehicle and the outlet is fluidly connected to an outlet tube of the vehicle. The inlet, DOC, mixer, SCR and outlet are arranged to define a substantial rectangular path of a flow (F) of exhaust gases flowing in the ATS, with the inlet and the outlet being positioned at a same vertex of the substantial rectangular path of the flow (F).
ON-BOARD CO2 CAPTURE AND STORAGE WITH METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK
In general, this disclosure describes method of capturing and storing CO.sub.2 on a vehicle. The method includes contacting an vehicle exhaust gas with one or more of a first metal organic framework (MOF) composition sufficient to separate CO.sub.2 from the exhaust gas, contacting the separated CO.sub.2 with one or more of a second MOF composition sufficient to store the CO.sub.2 and wherein the one or more first MOF composition comprises one or more SIFSIX-n-M MOF and wherein M is a metal and n is 2 or 3. Embodiments also describe an apparatus or system for capturing and storing CO.sub.2 onboard a vehicle.
HEAT INSULATING MATERIAL
A heat insulating material includes a central portion to cover a first base or a second base of an exhaust gas purifier of an engine, and a first rectangular portion and a second rectangular portion which have substantially rectangular shapes and which are connected to the central portion substantially symmetrically with respect to a center of the central portion. The second base is provided opposite to the first base. The first rectangular portion and the second rectangular portion are configured to cover a side surface of the exhaust gas purifier. The side surface connects the first base and the second base.
Optimized component for purifying exhaust gases
A purification component comprises at least one block for purifying exhaust gases, and a casing that defines a circulation channel for the exhaust gases extending along a longitudinal axis, and in which the purification block is housed. The casing comprises an inlet portion, an outlet portion, and a central portion arranged between the inlet portion and the outlet portion, and with the central portion surrounding the purification block. A thermal insulator covers the whole of the casing. The thermal insulator comprise a first part, having a first temperature resistance, arranged radially facing the purification block, and a second part, having a second temperature resistance greater than the first temperature resistance, covering at least the inlet portion of the casing.
SOUND-ABSORBING MATERIAL
The present invention provides a sound-absorbing material having sound absorption performance with an average sound absorption coefficient of 0.70 or more in the frequency range of 800 to 5000 Hz. The present invention provides a sound-absorbing material including: a fiber layer including a plurality of holes open to a surface thereof and having a thickness of 3 mm or more; and an inorganic material layer mainly containing a calcium-based material and having a thickness of 0.4 to 0.6 mm on the surface of the fiber layer, the holes being blind holes each penetrating through the inorganic material layer and having a bottom inside the fiber layer, each hole having a depth corresponding to 50 to 90% of the thickness of the fiber layer.
Vehicle exhaust system
A vehicle exhaust system includes a tubular component having an inner surface and an outer surface. The vehicle exhaust system also includes at least one opening defined by the tubular component. The at least one opening extends through each of the inner surface and the outer surface. The vehicle exhaust system further includes a patch adapted to cover the at least one opening. The patch includes a first portion extending parallel to the central axis. The first portion defines a plurality of pores. The first portion covers the at least one opening. The patch also includes a second portion extending away from the first portion. The first portion has a first thickness and the second portion has a second thickness.
EXHAUST DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
An exhaust device includes a casing including an inlet configured to receive an exhaust gas, an outlet configured to discharge the exhaust gas, and a chamber disposed therein between the inlet and the outlet. The casing defines a longitudinal axis along its length. The exhaust device further includes an exhaust conduit at least partially received within the chamber of the casing along the longitudinal axis. The exhaust conduit includes an inner surface, an opposing outer surface, a plurality of perforations extending through the exhaust conduit from the inner surface to the outer surface, and at least one protrusion extending outwardly from the outer surface. The exhaust device further includes an absorptive material disposed on the outer surface of the exhaust conduit. The at least one protrusion of the exhaust conduit engages with the absorptive material in order to form an interference fit between the absorptive material and the exhaust conduit.
Heat shield, exhaust system and automobile
A heat shield comprises a first thermal insulation section and a second thermal insulation section, wherein the second thermal insulation section is axially connected to the first thermal insulation section, and the thermal insulation performance of the second thermal insulation section is lower than that of the first thermal insulation section. The heat shield is advantageous in that it cannot only achieve a good integral thermal insulation effect, but also protect thermal-fatigue weak zones of an exhaust system shell, so as to prolong the operating life of the exhaust system and reduce the costs of maintenance and repair for an automobile, etc.
Muffler with internally supported tuner
A muffler for receiving exhaust gas from a combustion engine is disclosed. The muffler includes a casing and a pipe. The casing includes a shell coupled to first and second end caps that cooperate to define an internal volume. The pipe is disposed within the internal volume and extends substantially a length of the shell. Each of the first and second end caps includes a circumferentially extending flange engaging an outer surface of the pipe to provide support for the pipe. Each circumferentially extending flange extends at an acute angle relative to a shell axis of the shell. Each circumferentially extending flange is coaxial along a pipe axis of the pipe.
