METHOD OF JOINING TWO OBJECTS
A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on one of the objects in an opening provided on the other one of the objects. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. Before such liquefaction and interpenetration, an interference fit is established in which such opposite surfaces are pressed against each other, and, for the anchoring, mechanical vibration energy and possibly a shearing force are applied, wherein the shearing force puts a shear stress on the interference fit.
Personal passenger space support device
A personal passenger space support device is disclosed as it may be implemented to comfortably support a user's legs at a predetermined spacing in the user's own personal space while in a seated position. An example of the device includes a first leg support configured for a user's right leg, and a second leg support configured for the user's left leg. An interconnect is configured to maintain the first and second leg supports at a predetermined lateral spacing to support the user's legs apart from one another without overhanging the user's own personal space.

CONNECTING MEANS AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING TWO COMPONENTS
In order to provide a connecting device for connecting two components, which is simple to manufacture and enables a stable and reliable connection of the two components, it is proposed that the connecting device comprises a main body which comprises a receiving channel extending through the main body for accommodating a fixing element, wherein the receiving channel is preferably accessible at one end by way of an insertion opening of the main body and/or preferably at a (further) end by way of a fixing opening of the main body, wherein the main body preferably further comprises an actuating opening that is different from the insertion opening and/or the fixing opening, by way of which in particular the fixing element arranged in the receiving channel is preferably accessible for the actuation thereof.
Chain link adapter
A system for providing safety to a hoist having a hook and a chain. The system includes a safety cable threaded through an opening of the hook or an object to be lifted. The system includes a connector connected to the safety cable and the chain such that when the hook and the chain of the hoist are disconnected, the object remains connected to the chain via the connector and safety cable. The connector includes a base portion having a chain opening configured to receive the chain, and a first cable opening configured to receive the safety cable. The connector includes a top portion configured to be coupled to the base portion and cover a portion of the chain opening such that the base portion and the top portion, when coupled together, remain at a substantially fixed position along the length of the chain.
Electric cooktop safety system
The present disclosure relates to an electric cooktop safety system. More particularly, the electric cooktop safety system pertains to safety cookware vessels having special fastening components that secure these safety cookware vessels to an electric cooktop, preventing a user from accidentally tipping or pulling off the safety cookware vessels from the electric cooktop. In one implementation, the fastening components may include a safety stem having keyed members and stem locking members disposed on a safety cooktop to secure the safety cookware vessel to the safety cooktop. In another implementation, the fastening components may include electro-magnetic fastening components to secure the safety cookware vessel to the safety cooktop.
