LEAK RESISTANT COMPLIANT BUSHING
A leak resistant compliant bushing includes a body having a first end, a second end, an outer surface and an inner surface defining a passage. The outer surface and the inner surface extending between the first end and the second end and define an axial axis. A first plurality of channels extends into the body from the first end. Each of the first plurality of channels includes a terminal end that is spaced from the second end. A second plurality of channels extend into the body from the second end. Each of the second plurality of channels extend between adjacent ones of the first plurality of channels and include a terminal end section that is spaced from the first end.
GAS BEARING MANAGEMENT FOR A COMPRESSOR
A heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system includes a compressor with a gas bearing supplied with compressed gas and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an inlet pressure and outlet pressure of the gas bearing, determine a maximum speed limit based on the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure, and prevent the compressor from operating at a speed that is greater than the maximum speed limit. A method of controlling a compressor includes calculating a maximum speed limit based on an inlet pressure and an outlet pressure of the gas bearing. The method also includes in response to determining that a speed setting is greater than the maximum speed limit, adjusting operation of the compressor such that a speed of the compressor is at or below the maximum speed limit.
Tolerance ring assembly
A tolerance ring having a first axial end, a second axial end, and a central axis, the tolerance ring including an annular band; a plurality of protrusions, all of the plurality of protrusions extending from the annular band; and a guide portion extending from the annular band towards the first axial end of the tolerance ring, where the guide portion includes a guide surface that is curved in an axial section.
Rotating shaft damping with electro-rheological fluid
Some examples of rotating shaft damping with electro-rheological fluid can be implemented as a method. At least a portion of a circumferential surface area of a portion of a rotorcraft rotating shaft is surrounded with multiple hollow members. Each hollow member includes an electro-rheological fluid having a viscosity that changes based on an electric field applied to the electro-rheological fluid. A vibration of the rotorcraft rotating shaft is controlled by changing the viscosity of the electro-rheological fluid in response to the electric field applied to the electro-rheological fluid.
Bearing structure
Load sharing stacked bearing structure including first bearing having a first inner race, first outer race and first set of roller elements housed between first inner race and first outer race and a second bearing having a second inner race, second outer race and second set of roller elements housed between second inner race and the second outer race. A housing surrounds the first and second bearings. First compliant element is provided with the first compliant element connected between the housing and the first outer race. The first compliant element, first outer race and housing define at a pressure chamber. The first outer race axially slidable relative to the second outer race such that an increase in pressure in pressure chamber causes a change in axial spacing between the outer races. This induces an additional axial load on the bearings which helps balance thrust load sharing.
Turbocharger and method
A turbocharger includes a turbine, a compressor, and a bearing housing forming a bearing bore. A bearing arrangement is disposed between a shaft interconnecting the turbine and compressor wheels, and the bearing housing. The bearing arrangement includes first and second bearings formed between an outer bearing race element disposed within the bearing bore an inner bearing race element disposed within the outer bearing race element and between the outer bearing race element and the shaft. The inner bearing race element includes a flared portion extending radially outwardly to provide torsional and bending rigidity to the shaft.
BREATHING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
There is provided an apparatus for delivering a flow of gas having a controller, a housing defining a gasflow passage, a motor with an impeller to deliver gas through the gasflow passage, and a flexible printed circuit electrically connected to the motor for electrically connecting the motor to the controller. There is also provided an apparatus for delivering a flow of gas having a housing defining a gasflow passage. The gas flowing through the gasflow passage is a high concentration oxygen gas. The apparatus has a motor with windings and an impeller to deliver gas through the gasflow passage, and an elastomeric shield to pneumatically isolate the windings from the gasflow passage.
Center bearing bush unit for propeller shaft
A center bearing bush unit for a propeller shaft can effectively decrease the amount of large/small displacement that occurs in the propeller shaft during driving of a vehicle. A center bearing bush unit for a propeller shaft includes an inner pipe; an outer pipe disposed on a common axis as the inner pipe at the outside of the inner pipe; a cushion rubber attached between the inner and outer pipes, and having a plurality of voids disposed on the common axis; and a plurality of stoppers attached to the outer circumferential surface of the inner pipe while being spaced apart from the cushion rubber at a predetermined interval.
Bearing pressure plate and rotating electric machine using same
The present invention provides a bearing pressure plate and a dynamo-electric machine using the bearing pressure plate which are capable of avoiding breakage of a bolt by dispersing a stress when a load due to vibrations etc. is applied. A bearing pressure plate 5 has an annular inner ring portion 11 abutting against an outer ring 3Ba of a rolling bearing 3 that supports a rotation shaft 4, an annular outer ring portion 12 located at a radial direction outer side of the inner ring portion 11 and having a plurality of bolt holes 12b through which the outer ring portion 12 is secured to a fixing portion side with a plurality of bolts 12a, and bridge portions 13 integrally connecting the inner ring portion 11 and the outer ring portion 12 at positions except the bolt holes 12b in a circumferential direction.
