Safety shut-off device and method of use
A safety shut-off system and method are provided for eliminating power to a load in the event of smoke detection. The system may comprise a device located at the appliance for detecting a signal from a smoke detector, and cutting power to the appliance only when the appliance is in use. The device may be synchronized with any standard smoke alarm signal to reduce the number of false positive shut-offs. The system may also comprise a smoke alarm hard-wired to a circuit breaker, for shutting off power to all appliances on a particular breaker upon receipt of a signal from the smoke alarm, and only when the appliances on the breaker are in use. The system may also have the ability to shut off one breaker, multiple breakers, or all breakers at different time increments to actively prevent and reduce the damages caused by fires.
Combustion control device
An object of the present invention is to realize a combustion control device that reduces, when a pressure within a mixer is rapidly increased at the time of ignition of the combustion control device, the transmission of the temporarily increased pressure to a pressure sensor, that brings the pressure sensor into a non-operated state and that thereby can continue combustion in the combustion control device. Hence, a combustion control device is provided that includes: a combustion chamber which has a heat dissipation disc on a front surface and within which a combustion room is formed; a burner which is attached to the combustion chamber; a mixer which mixes a gas supplied to the burner with air; and a pressure sensor which is connected to the mixer through a pressure passage, where a pressure propagation delay means which reduces transmission to the pressure sensor caused by a temporary pressure increase within the mixer is provided partway along the pressure passage.
FIRE SHIELD INTEGRATED TO FUEL NOZZLE RETAINING BRACKET
A retaining bracket is attached to a fuel nozzle for cooperating with a flange on a fuel transfer tube to prevent the fuel transfer tube from becoming disconnected from the fuel nozzle during engine operation. The retaining bracket is shaped so as to form an enclosure over a head of the nozzle, the enclosure acting as a fire shield to allow the nozzle to perform its intended functions for a predetermined period of time when exposed to an engine fire event.
Heating system shut-off safety device
A heating system shut-off safety assembly includes a housing coupled to an electrical line for a heating unit. A processor is coupled to the housing and the electrical line to allow and restrict an electrical current in the electrical line. A first carbon monoxide sensor is coupled to the housing and the processor to detect carbon monoxide. A heat sensor is coupled to the housing and the processor to detect heat from the heating unit. A smoke sensor is coupled to the housing and the processor to detect smoke from the heating unit. A second carbon monoxide sensor is coupled to a warm air discharge and the processor to detect carbon monoxide in the warm air discharge. The processor restricts the current in the electrical line when the first carbon monoxide sensor, the second carbon monoxide sensor and smoke sensor detects carbon monoxide or smoke to disable the heating unit.
Method and apparatus for monitoring port blockage for TDLAS measurements in harsh environments
A tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) optical head includes a housing configured for attachment to a sight tube attached to a wall of a process chamber. The TDLAS optical head further includes optics within the housing for transmitting, receiving, or transmitting and receiving a laser beam within a process chamber through the sight tube. The TDLAS optical head further includes a photo sensor in the housing positioned to receive light emitted by combustion within the process chamber to which the housing is attached.
Leakage detection in a flame sense circuit
A flame detection system is designed to detect leakage in flame sense circuits. The flame detection system includes a flame sensor, an amplifier, a detection circuit, and a microcontroller. Flame sense circuitry use operational amplifiers that needs negative voltage supply for its operation. Negative supply voltage properly measures negative input signals. Once a leakage current in the flame detection system is determined a shutdown signal is provided to shut down a flame sensor when the leakage current condition is determined.
Pneumatic actuating injet valve with delayed shutoff
An injet for a gas burner includes a first gas orifice and a second gas orifice. An injet body defines an air passage and a gas passage. The first and second gas orifices are mounted to the injet body. A pneumatically actuated gas valve blocks a flow of gaseous fuel through the gas passage to the second gas orifice in a closed configuration. The pneumatically actuated gas valve is configured to adjust from the closed configuration to an open configuration in response to a flow of air through the air passage. A flow restriction body is disposed upstream of the pneumatically actuated gas valve. The flow restriction body defines a through hole via which air is flowable to pneumatically actuated gas valve.
