ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESSES AND ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED PRODUCTS
A technique to additively print onto a dissimilar material, especially ceramics and glasses (e.g., semiconductors, graphite, diamond, other metals) is disclosed herein. The technique enables manufacture of heat removal devices and other deposited structures, especially on heat sensitive substrates. It also enables novel composites through additive manufacturing. The process enables rapid bonding, orders-of-magnitude faster than conventional techniques.
REFRIGERANT PIPE AND HEAT PUMP APPARATUS
An object of the present invention is to allow uniform distribution of a refrigerant by a distributor. A refrigerant pipe includes a bent pipe formed in the shape of a curve and a downstream pipe connected to the downstream side of the bent pipe and formed to be linear. A distributor to distribute the refrigerant into a plurality of flow paths is connected to the downstream pipe on the downstream side. An inner wall on the inner peripheral side of the bent pipe being on the side of the curvature center of the curve is a grooved surface with a groove formed therein, and an inner wall on the outer peripheral side of the bent pipe being on the side opposite to the curvature center of the curve is a smooth surface.
HEAT EXCHANGERS
A plate fin heat exchanger comprises a circular section tubular shell. The shell comprises a plurality of first shell openings arranged along a length of the shell and a plurality of second shell openings arranged along a length of the shell. A first fluid plenum is provided on the shell in fluid communication with the first shell openings. A second fluid plenum is provided on the shell in fluid communication with the second shell openings. The heat exchanger further comprises a core extending axially within the tubular shell. The core comprises an axially extending first core passage and a second axially extending core passage isolated from the first core passage.
MULTI-LINE CONDUIT ASSEMBLIES
In various embodiments, multi-conduit assemblies 100 comprise pluralities of individual or distinct conduits 101 joined by various forms of webs 110, sleeves 176, wraps 222, 212, and/or retainers 181. Assemblies 100 are useful for fluid, electrical, communications, and other applications.

FLAT HEAT PIPE WITH RESERVOIR FUNCTION
A flat heat pipe with a two-phase liquid-vapor working fluid, includes a first plate receiving thermal energy from a heat source, a second plate transferring thermal energy to a cold source, an edge to form a hermetically sealed enclosed internal space, a capillary structure interposed between the first and second plates, vaporization channels adjacent to the first plate, condensation channels adjacent to the second plate, a transfer passage placing the evaporation channels in communication with the condensation channels for the transport of vapor, and a collection channel forming a reservoir, in fluid communication with each condensation channel. The collection channel is adjacent to the second plate, such that the collection channel can pump and store the excess liquid phase.

Hollow polymer micro-truss structures containing pressurized fluids
An ordered, 3-dimensional, micro-scale, open-cellular truss structure including interconnected hollow polymer tubes. The hollow micro-truss structure separates two fluid volumes which can be independently pressurized or depressurized to control flow, or materials properties, or both. Applications for this invention include deployable structures, inflatable structures, flow control, and vented padding.
MULTI-SPLIT AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING HEAT EXCHANGE CAPACITY THEREOF
A multi-split air-conditioning system, and a method for calculating a heat exchange capacity thereof. The method includes: acquiring a total heat exchange capacity of a multi-split air-conditioning system; acquiring a pressure difference between two pressure measurement points on each air pipe; acquiring the distance between the two pressure measurement points on each air pipe; acquiring the pipe diameter of each air pipe; acquiring the friction factor of each air pipe; acquiring the density of a heat exchange medium in each air pipe; and according to the total heat exchange capacity of the multi-split air-conditioning system, the pressure difference and distance between the two pressure measurement points on each air pipe, the pipe diameter and friction factor of each air pipe, and the density of the heat exchange medium in each air pipe, calculating a heat exchange capacity of each indoor unit.
Thermal management system
A thermal management system comprising a fluid channel with a plurality of parallel first flow paths extending along a first level in a first thermal mass and a plurality of parallel second flow paths extending along a second level in a second thermal mass are described. Methods for controlling the temperature of a substrate or heater surface and fluid manifolds are also described.
