A heat exchanger, comprising: a tube bundle having at least one tube for receiving a fluid medium, wherein the at least one tube is wound about a core tube which extends along a longitudinal axis, and a first tube section of the at least one tube rests against at least one web which extends along the tube core and at least one first bracket element for securing the first tube section to the at least one web, the at least one first bracket element having a lower face which faces the first tube section and rests against the first tube section. The invention additionally relates to a securing system and to a method.
Folded heat exchanger for cooled cooling air
A heat exchanger (HEX) for cooling air in a gas turbine engine is provided. The HEX may comprise a central manifold comprising an inlet portion, a first outlet portion, and a second outlet portion. The HEX may further comprise a plurality of tubes coupled to the central manifold, the plurality of tubes comprising at least a first tube, a second tube, a third tube, and a fourth tube, a shroud at least partially encasing said plurality of tubes, and a cooling air flow path defined by at least one of the shroud, the plurality of tubes, and an outer surface of the central manifold, wherein the cooling air flow path is orthogonal to said plurality of tubes.
Baffle support and baffle
A baffle support and a baffle for a block-type heat exchanger. The baffle support comprises a base plate extending in a first direction and a transverse second direction. The baffle support comprises a first pair and a second pair of projections extending from the front surface of the base plate to engage the baffle. The first pair of projections is located further in the first direction than the second pair of projections. The baffle comprises a mounting member at each transverse edge of a baffle plate. Each mounting member comprises at least one stop surface) facing a first longitudinal edge of the baffle plate. A baffle assembly comprising two baffle supports and a baffle.
HEAT EXCHANGER
A modular system for heat exchange between fluids includes two end plates. At least one end plate is configured with inlets and outlets for fluids. The modular system includes a number of heat exchanger elements and a number of guiding elements. Each heat exchanger element includes a folded sheet material including a plurality of slits extending in a longitudinal direction of the folded sheet material, which longitudinal extending slits form the fluids flow paths. The folded sheet material is cast in one piece in an outer casing. A central opening of the outer casing covers an outer circumference of the folded sheet material, exposing a front side and a back side of the folded sheet material where two through holes, forming the inlets and outlets for each fluid, are provided on opposite sides of the central opening of the outer casing. Each guiding element includes two inlets and two outlets for fluids, and a bead or edge, provided on one side, forming an enclosure around the inlet and outlet for a first fluid, and a bead or edge on an opposite side, forming an enclosure around the inlet and outlet for a second fluid. Heat exchanger elements and guiding elements are arranged successively following each other. The heat exchanger elements are arranged that two adjacent heat exchanger elements on sides facing each other carry the same fluid.
HVAC condenser coil isolators
In one instance, an isolator for a heating, ventilating, and cooling (HVAC) system is provided that is a formed plastic member that is disposed between dissimilar metals of the bottom of the condenser and a base pan that supports the condenser or between two dissimilar metals of another HVAC heat exchanger. The isolator separates the two dissimilar metals involved from each of those components and also provides gaps or apertures to drain any water that otherwise might become standing water that potentially causes oxidation or increased oxidation. Other aspects are disclosed.
Heat exchangers
A heat exchanger which may be used in an engine, such as a vehicle engine for an aircraft or orbital launch vehicle. is provided. The heat exchanger may be configured as generally drum-shaped with a multitude of spiral sections, each containing numerous small diameter tubes. The spiral sections may spiral inside one another. The heat exchanger may include a support structure with a plurality of mutually axially spaced hoop supports, and may incorporate an intermediate header. The heat exchanger may incorporate recycling of methanol or other antifreeze used to prevent blocking of the heat exchanger due to frost or ice formation.
Air-cooled condenser system
An air-cooled condenser system for steam condensing applications in a power plant Rankine cycle includes an air cooled condenser having a plurality of interconnected modular cooling cells. Each cell comprises a frame-supported fan, inlet steam headers, outlet condensate headers, and tube bundle assemblies having extending between the headers. The tube bundle assemblies may be arranged in a V-shaped tube structure. A plurality of deflection limiter beams are arranged coplanar with the tube bundles. Top ends of each deflection limiter beam are slideably inserted in an associated floating end cap affixed to an upper tubesheet which moves vertically relative to the beams via thermal expansion/contraction concomitantly with the tubes. The deflection limiter beams provides guided restraint system for expansion/contraction of the tube bundles which prevents out of plane tube bowing.
INTERLOCKING DOVETAIL GEOMETRY JOINT
A method of manufacturing a heat exchanger. The method includes additively manufacturing a first body with a first plurality of passages extending through the first body. Additively manufacturing a second body with a second plurality of passages extending through the second body. The method also includes, interlocking the first body with the second body such that the first plurality of passages is aligned with the second plurality of passages and fluidically connected with the second plurality of passages.
