Glass penetrating projectile
A projectile for use in a firearm ammunition cartridge, and a method of forming the projectile, the projectile including a core, and a jacket in which the core is disposed, the jacket having a closed rearward end and an open forward end, the forward end tapering inwardly toward a longitudinal centerline of the jacket to define an ogive portion of the projectile, wherein the forward end of the jacket terminates in a plane that is perpendicular to the longitudinal centerline of the jacket, and wherein an outer perimeter of the forward end of the jacket has a machined sharp edge.
Intermediate for manufacturing projectiles of a deformable bullet, projectile, deformed projectile, tool for manufacturing the intermediate and method for manufacturing the intermediate
Intermediate for the production of a projectile in particular a deformable bullet, consisting of a ductile blank, which is cold-formed into the intermediate by means of pressing, a cylindrical solid base end section and a press end section with a central press recess incorporated by means of pressing and a wall limiting the press recess to form an ogival shaped tip, wherein the wall is formed with at least two slots extending in the axial direction of the intermediate, which separate at least two prongs in the circumferential direction of the intermediate, wherein the at least two slots extend by more than 10% of an axial total longitudinal extension of the intermediate from the wall end towards the base end section.
Ammunition Cartridge Casing and Method
An ammunition cartridge casing is provided having a primer body and a casing body. The primer body has an inner primer portion and an outer primer portion configured to nest in conformance with an outer surface of the inner primer portion. The outer surface of the inner primer portion provides a circumferential trench having a radially outwardly extending circumferential wall portion contiguous with an axially extending circumferential wall portion. The casing body has a distal end portion and a proximal end portion. The proximal end portion of the casing body is interposed between the inner primer portion and the outer primer portion within the trench having an interlocked axially extending circumferential portion and an interlocked radially outwardly extending disc portion of the casing body entrapped between the inner primer portion and the outer primer portion. A method is also provided.
Small caliber crimping primer and primer feed
As described above, this new primer feed system is both accurate and consistent. The primer feed station begins by loading primers from the vendor packaging into the vibratory feed bowl via the primer chute. The bowl has an adjustable height polycarbonate guard that is inside the main safety polycarbonate doors and exits above the machine. The bowl then orients the primers open side up and discharges them into the primer track. Crimping can be done with 3 or 5 pins or a complete radial crimp. Previous versions of the crimp station on these crimping machines involved a pin mounted to the upper ram and a lower pin actuated by the lower ram. It was difficult to time and adjust properly for a consistent crimp. This new approach to crimping has proved much more reliable, accurate and easier to adjust. It still utilizes an upper pin mounted to the upper moving ram assembly but the lower pin is fixed.
Optimized subsonic projectiles
Various embodiments of optimized subsonic projectiles are provided. For example, one exemplary subsonic projectile can include an elliptical nose cone, a cylindrical body and a boattail with various design features that can be used in a subsonic ammunition cartridge where the subsonic projectile is stabile throughout at least a segment of a flight allowing for better accuracy, maintaining low drag, maximizing range and achieving desired performance while ensuring the projectile stays below the speed of sound and lowering a noise profile of projectile and a launcher firing the projectile.
Transfer ring turnbuckle
A projectile enables axial assembly and precise angular alignment of cylindrical or ogival sections of the projectile without interfering with internal parts spanning those sections. The projectile includes a turnbuckle design that minimizes Outer Mold Line (OML) transitions and maintains structural integrity. Advantageously, the turnbuckle allows surface mounted antennas and internal electronics to span structural sections of the projectile. The minimal OML produces less turbulence and drag. Finally, the turnbuckle is structurally robust for gun launched applications.
SOLID BULLET, INTERMEDIATE PRODUCT FOR MANUFACTURING A SOLID BULLET, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SOLID BULLET
The present invention relates to a solid projectile for ammunition in particular with a caliber of less than 13 mm, wherein the solid projectile is made of iron, in particular soft iron, with a carbon content of more than 0.05%.

Multi-piece polymer ammunition cartridge nose
The present invention provides a polymer nose for a polymeric ammunition cartridge having a generally cylindrical neck having a projectile aperture at a first end, a shoulder comprising a shoulder top connected to the generally cylindrical neck opposite a shoulder bottom, a side wall extending from the shoulder, a groove positioned around the side wall, a skirt connected circumferentially about the groove to extend away from the groove, wherein the groove and the skirt are adapted to mate to a polymer cartridge.
Bullets and methods of making bullets
A method of making a bullet includes metal injection molding a bullet jacket or preform, and forming the jacket or preform into a bullet.
