BULKHEAD ASSEMBLY HAVING A PIVOTABLE ELECTRIC CONTACT COMPONENT AND INTEGRATED GROUND APPARATUS
According to an aspect a bulkhead assembly is provided having particular application with a downhole tool, in particular for oil well drilling applications. The bulkhead assembly includes a bulkhead body and an electrical contact component disposed within the bulkhead body, wherein at least a portion of the electrical contact component is configured to pivot about its own axis, without compromising its ability to provide a pressure and fluid barrier. In an embodiment, a ground apparatus is provided to provide an electrical connection for at least one ground wire. The ground apparatus may be positionable on the bulkhead body of the bulkhead assembly. In an aspect, a downhole tool including the bulkhead assembly and ground apparatus is also generally described.
PRACTICE AMMUNITION AND TRAINING SYSTEM USING THE PRACTICE AMMUNITION
The invention relates to programmable practice ammunition. For this purpose, a projectile head of a practice projectile of the practice ammunition has at least one electronic system in the form of an electronic fuze replacement system and a signal transmitter. Optionally, an explosive charge can be introduced into the projectile head. The explosive charge is preferably a pyrotechnic. A light signal, an infrared signal, a radio signal, or another suitable electronic or optical signal, even a color signal, can be output and transmitted via the signal transmitter. Optionally, the explosive charge can be triggered and deployed via the signal transmitter. The projectile is provided with radial openings for this purpose. The invention additionally relates to a training system for a realistic practice using an explosive representation at the target or in the target area.
Pyrotechnic system
A pyrotechnic projectile, an electronic controller for a pyrotechnic projectile, and a method of controlling a pyrotechnic projectile are provided. The pyrotechnic projectile comprises: a burst charge, configured to provide an a visual and/or audible effect upon activation thereof; an electronic match configured to activate the burst charge; and an electronic controller, coupled to the electronic match. The electronic controller is configured to determine an altitude of the pyrotechnic projectile and cause the electronic match to activate the burst charge at least in part according to the altitude of the pyrotechnic projectile.
CONTROL MODULE FOR A DETONATION SUB AND A DETONATION SUB
A control module for a detonation sub includes a control circuit having a switch, a power supply input, a timer circuit, and a detonation signal output electrically connected to a detonator. A power supply is selectively connected in electrical communication to the power supply input. A timer circuit is initialized by activating the switch prior to connecting the power supply and deactivating the switch within an activation time. Once initialized, the timer circuit generates a detonation signal after a detonation time.
