METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A CLOCK ON BOARD A MOTOR VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED ADJUSTING DEVICE
A method for adjusting a clock on board a motor vehicle, the clock providing an actual time for functions of the vehicle, the vehicle connected via wireless communication to a data server, the method including: the server transmitting a sequence of consecutive actual-time values, separated from one another by a fixed time interval; the vehicle receiving the actual-time values shifted by an unknown and variable time of flight between transmission and reception; for each received actual-time value: calculating a difference between an actual-time value received at a given instant and an actual-time value received at a previous instant; calculating a discrepancy between the calculated difference and the fixed time interval; calculating a cumulative disparity, consisting in summing the discrepancy calculated for a time value received at one instant and a time value received at the previous instant; determining the actual time for adjusting the on-board clock according to the disparity.
Time signal manipulation detection using remotely managed time
Systems and methods are provided for monitoring or protecting an electric power distribution system using protective devices that may rely on accurate time signals from a common time source. A first protective device may receive a first time signal deriving from the common time source and a second protective device may receive a second time signal deriving from the common time source. The first time signal and the second time signal may be compared; when a difference between them exceeds a defined threshold, time signal manipulation may be detected. The protective devices may modify their operation in response to or to account for the time signal manipulation.

SATELLITE RADIO-CONTROLLED WATCH
A satellite radio-controlled watch, including a receiving unit for receiving a satellite radio wave containing time information and position information; a storage unit for storing intersection point information indicating a position of an intersection point between a reference line along a great circle orthogonal to a specific great circle on the earth or a reference line along the specific great circle on the earth or a circle parallel to the great circle and a time zone boundary, and time difference division information on a wedge-shaped or belt-shaped area that is adjacent to the reference line and to which the intersection point belongs, and a time zone determination unit for determining a time zone, based on the position information, the intersection point information, and the time difference division information.
COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC TIMEPIECE, COMMUNICATION METHOD AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A communication apparatus comprises a communicator that receives a standard time from an external apparatus, a manipulation receiver that receives a time correction action from a user, and a controller that performs a timing processing for clocking time and a time correction processing for correcting the time clocked by the timing processing, on the basis of the standard time received by the communicator, or on the basis of the time correction action received by the manipulation receiver. The controller changes processing contents of the time correction processing until a prescribed time interval has elapsed, when the time clocked by the timing processing is corrected on the basis of the time correction action received by the manipulation receiver.
Electronic timepiece, processing selection method, and storage medium
An electronic timepiece includes a timer that clocks a current time, a receiver that receives radio waves, a switch that receives an operation from a user, and a processor. The processor acquires, in accordance with the operation received by the switch, a determination result indicating whether the radio waves are receivable by the receiver, and selects and executes one of a first processing and at least one second processing that differs from the first processing. The first processing is processing to correct the current time clocked by the timer on the basis of the radio waves received by the receiver. The processor does not select the first processing when the determination results indicate that the radio waves are not receivable by the receiver.

ELECTRONIC WATCH CLASP SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A watch can include a first watch band portion and a second watch band portion both configured to be coupled with a mechanical watch. The watch can further include a circuit board associated with a controller, the circuit board and controller being removably retained by a clasp. The circuit board and the controller can be electronically and operatively independent from the mechanical watch.

Automatic time zone detection in devices
Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for enabling devices to determine the time zone in which they are located. A mobile device may receive location information from one or more sources. Based thereon, the current location of the mobile device may be determined in terms of latitude and longitude. The indication of the current location may be converted to an index value according to a Hilbert curve (or other space-filling curve), and the index value applied to a time zone index file to determine the local time zone. A time zone setting of the mobile device may be updated accordingly. Furthermore, “geofencing” may be used by the mobile device to detect movement towards and through a time zone boundary, leading to a new time zone determination being initiated.
