Method of performing a cleaning operation using a water jet device

A system and method for cleaning of heat exchanger tubes including an assembly, an indexer, and a communication device provided with specialized software and programming. The indexer includes orthogonally arranged first and second arms. A trolley and sensors are provided on the indexer arms. One or more lances are provided on the trolley to deliver water jets into the openings. Sensors measure displacement as the trolley is moved relative to the heat exchanger's face plate. An operator controls the system from a distance away using the communication device. During setup, the pattern of the face plate is learned and mapped utilizing information from the sensors as one of the inputs. This information is utilized to help navigate the face plate during a subsequent cleaning operation. A kit for retrofitting existing X-Y indexers is also disclosed.

A mass flow control apparatus and methods for calibrating and tuning the mass flow apparatus are provided. The mass flow apparatus can be calibrated by receiving a calibration input signal that provides one or more properties of a gas that is flowing through a main fluid flow path and performing one or more measurements, using one or more sensors, on the gas. The calibration includes determining a calibration parameter based on the results of the one or more measurements and the calibration input signal and adjusting a proportional valve, based on the calibration parameter, to adjust a flow rate, of the gas through the apparatus, to match a setpoint flow rate.

Path-based water capacity determination for ancillary spans

Systems and methods for determining optimal water capacity or distribution for each of a plurality of sections of a field to be irrigated by an ancillary span of an irrigation system are provided. A path is determined for a steering tower of the ancillary span that is comprised of a plurality of position-based coordinates. The position of the ancillary span steering tower (and thus the position of the ancillary span) relative to the determined path is always known and, accordingly, the optimal water capacity or distribution for the needs of its location can be readily determined based upon a calculated area factor percentage.

DETECTING NOISE ON FLOW CONTROLS
20230213115 · 2023-07-06 ·

A monitor device that is configured for use on flow controls and like industrial devices. The embodiments may include a resonator that is sensitive to vibrations on the flow control. The resonator may generate a non-electrical signal, like pressure waves. This non-electrical signal can transit a conduit to a sensor that can convert the pressure waves into an electrical signal. On valve assemblies, a controller can process the electrical signal to detect potential health or maintenance issues. The controller may, in turn, generate an alert to prompt operators to perform maintenance on the flow control.

Capacity control valve and capacity control valve control method

A capacity control valve includes: a valve body (10) having first communication passages (11), second communication passages (12), third communication passages (13), and a main valve seat (15a); a valve element (20) having an intermediate communication passage (29), a main valve portion (21c) and an auxiliary valve portion (23d); a pressure-sensitive element (24) disposed in the valve body (10); a solenoid (30) that drives a rod (36); a first biasing member (43) that biases in a valve closing direction of the main valve portion (21c); and a second biasing member (44) that biases in a valve opening direction of the main valve portion (21c), wherein the rod (36) moves relative to the valve element (20) to press the pressure-sensitive element (24). The capacity control valve can efficiently discharge a liquid refrigerant and can decrease a driving force of a compressor during a liquid refrigerant discharge operation.

Aircraft pneumatic system

An aircraft pneumatic system including a pneumatic actuator arranged to operate at a pressure value at least equal to a pressure threshold, a line fluidly connected between a pneumatic source and the pneumatic actuator, and a venturi disposed upstream of the line and downstream of the pneumatic source. The venturi is configured to receive a source flow from the source at a mass flow rate, the mass flow rate being between a lower, nominal flow rate value and a higher, graded flow rate value. The venturi is sized such that when the mass flow rate is at the nominal flow rate value, a line pressure inside the line corresponds to a source pressure upstream of the venturi, and when the mass flow rate to the venturi is at the graded flow rate value, the line pressure is less than the source pressure.

Fluid application for autonomous haul trucks

A method for applying fluid to a travel lane is disclosed. The method may include receiving information related to a travel lane including a first set of tire paths and a second set of tire paths to be traveled by one or more vehicles, generating spray pattern control information for a fluid application machine having multiple spray heads based on the first set of tire paths and the second set of tire paths to be traveled by the one or more vehicles, and selectively triggering the multiple spray heads of the fluid application machine to alternately apply fluid to the first set of tire paths and the second set of tire paths based on the spray pattern control information and based on a current position of the fluid application machine on the travel lane.

Coordinated control for mud circulation optimization

Two control strategies may be implemented to optimize mud circulation in a drilling mud circulation system. In a networked control strategy, the mud circulation system does not involve any centralized controller yet all the local controllers can exchange information in real-time via a central data storage. The master-slave control strategy involves a centralized optimizer, and the subsystems are treated as slave systems and are driven by a visual master control system.
