Methods and systems for controlling access to a protected resource

An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes a memory, a camera module, a communications module, and a processor that is configured to: receive, from the camera module, image data associated with a machine-readable optical label, the optical label encoding transaction details of a transfer of data to a recipient account, wherein the transaction details do not indicate an identity of the recipient account; receive a user input indicating authorization to initiate a transfer of data, via a protected resource, from an account associated with the user to the recipient account; and in response to receiving the user input, generate a request for initiating the transfer of data based on the transaction details, the request including an access token for use in authenticating the user on requests to access the protected resource.

Operations system for combining independent product monitoring systems to automatically manage product inventory and product pricing and automate store processes

In some implementations, a device may receive data identifying products and encoded data identifying smart tags of the products. The device may map the data and the encoded data to generate encoded product data. The device may receive encoded data provided by smart tags of products received by a store. The device may receive images of the products. The device may compare the encoded data and the encoded product data to identify a set of the products received by the store. The device may correlate the images with the set of the products. The device may process the correlated data to identify locations of the set of the products in the store. The device may generate an instruction to relocate a product to a new location and may provide the instruction to a device, associated with the store, to cause the product to be relocated to the new location.

According to one or more embodiments, a settlement apparatus includes a processor. The processor detects a state of the settlement apparatus related to execution of settlement processing at the settlement apparatus using a plurality of settlement methods. The processor determines, based on the detected state of the settlement apparatus, whether there is a first settlement method among the plurality of settlement methods which cannot be executed at the settlement processing apparatus. The processor then notifies a customer of settlement method information indicating the first settlement method cannot be executed at the settlement processing or that another settlement method, other than the first settlement method, can be executed at the settlement apparatus instead of the first settlement method.

A method or a system, automatically and electronically ensures that customer pays for all goods picked up and the customer takes out of the shop only goods paid for. All this is done without the need of a shop teller and finally without the need of a shop supervisor to periodically crosscheck and ensure that the total amount of money collected by the shop teller (within a period) equals the total value of goods disbursed. The resultant of this system are the shop runs can run a totally cashless shop; reduce human resource by a significant percentage; shop can be opened 24/7; no more queues at shop teller points even during peak periods or major sales.

Disclosed are self-checkout terminals and systems and methods for controlling the same. The systems and methods may include receiving a first image of the customer queuing area from the first camera and determining that a customer is in the customer queuing area. A first wakeup signal may be transmitted to one of the self-checkout terminals when the customer is in the customer queuing area. A second image of the customer queuing area may be received from the first camera and a determination may be made that the customer queuing area is void of customers. A first sleep signal may be transmitted to the one of the self-checkout terminals when the customer queuing area is void of the customers.

INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM
20230027382 · 2023-01-26 ·

The objective of the present invention is to automate settlement of the price of a product, when a purchaser purchases a product displayed in a shop, in order to reduce the time required for settlement of the price of the product, and to prevent fraud by the purchaser or the cashier. The present information processing system is provided with a moving object tracking means, a shelf product recognition means, and a settlement means. The moving object tracking means finds a moving object such as a shopper or a basket moving within a store, defines the region of the moving object, and captures images of the moving object while tracking the movement thereof. The shelf product recognition means constantly monitors the state within a shelf, and compares captured images before and after an object is removed from the shelf, a change in weight, or a change in a position signal. The product to be recognized is defined from the captured images, the weight, and position information, and the product is identified from the defined information. The settlement means settles payment for the identified product.

System and method of selective auxiliary data capture

A method of auxiliary data capture control includes: storing, at a data capture device, (i) detection criteria corresponding to events having respective event identifiers; and (ii) a registration indicator associated with at least one of the event identifiers; controlling a primary data capture sensor to obtain primary captured data; in response to detecting, based on the primary captured data, that the detection criteria are satisfied for a detected one of the event identifiers, determining whether the registration indicator is associated with the detected event identifier; and when the registration indicator is associated with the detected event identifier, controlling an auxiliary data capture sensor to obtain auxiliary captured data.

Images are captured of a customer during a transaction at a transaction terminal along with images associated with items of the transaction and any bags or cart used to hold the items. The images are processed to track any movement and locations of the customer, items, bags, and cart relative to a known location of the transaction terminal. When a transaction payment is required for the transaction and movement is detected in a direction that is moving away from the transaction terminal before a payment notification is received for the transaction, one or more alerts are raised as an indication to staff and/or security systems of a potential in-progress walk-away theft.
