TRANSMISSION OF POWER AND COMMUNICATION OF SIGNALS OVER FUEL AND HYDRAULIC LINES IN A VEHICLE
Systems and methods for communicating a signal over a hydraulic line in a vehicle are provided. In one embodiment, a system can include a hydraulic line. The hydraulic line can include at least one communication medium for propagating a communication signal. The system can also include at least one signal communication device configured to receive the communication signal communicated over the hydraulic line. The system can also include at least one vehicle component in communication with the at least one signal communication device.
Optical based pose detection for multiple unmanned underwater vehicles
A system and method for optical communication between multiple UUVs, more specifically, for leader-follower formations between UUVs. The system focuses on the characterization and modeling of a 1-dimensional and/or 3-dimensional light field produced from a light source mounted on a Leader UUV, which is detected by one or more follower UUVs. Communication algorithms are used to monitor the UUV's motion and orientation utilizing simulators, look up tables, and the like. A variety of detectors arrays can be used in a variety of wavelengths depending on the desired application.

REMOTE MONITORING AND CONTROL OF MOVABLE BARRIER STATUS
A system for moving a barrier includes a motor with an integrated encoder operative to generate pulses as a function of rotation of the rotatable shaft of the motor. A preferred form of encoder is a rotary optical encoder to generate optical pulses as a function of rotational movement of the rotatable shaft. Both a microcontroller to determine door status and a controller to control door movement receive the pulses and separately execute methods in response thereto.

IMMERSION-COOLED BATTERY WITH WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
An immersion-cooled battery including at least one module provided with a wireless communication system as an interface between a battery management system (BMS) and a data bus outside the module to ensure the tightness of the module. The module includes an enclosure filled with a cooling fluid into which electrochemical cells and the BMS are immersed. The wireless communication system, connected to the BMS, includes radiofrequency or optical wave emission and reception components, an inner unit and an outer unit, respectively located inside and outside the enclosure. The inner and outer units communicating through all-or-nothing raw signals propagating through at least one porthole embedded in a wall of the enclosure.

REMOTE CONTROLLER AND SELECTIVE KEY ILLUMINATION
According to one configuration, a remote controller device wirelessly controls a remote media system. The remote controller device includes multiple selectable control buttons, multiple optical sources, and controller hardware. Each optical source individually back-illuminates a respective selectable control button of the multiple selectable buttons. The controller hardware selectively activates different groupings of the multiple optical sources depending upon a current operational mode of the remote media system. For example, a respective user of the remote controller device selects a particular button of the remote controller device corresponding to the first operational mode. The remote controller device, in turn, transmits a wireless signal to the remote media system to control the remote media system to the first operational mode. Rather than illuminating all buttons, the remote controller device then back-illuminates only a relevant group of multiple selectable control buttons applicable to the first operational mode.
