Internet of things gateway systems and methods for oil and gas fields

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide for wireless sensor packages to monitor various oilfield equipment health status, such as bearing wear and detect out-of-balance condition on reciprocating rod lifts (RRLs). Equipment health data can be collected, analyzed and stored by an IoT gateway, which is a small form-factor, ruggedized, low-power Intel processor computer running a novel message-oriented middleware software stack that leverages the MQTT protocol. Data may subsequently be transmitted to a cloud service via the internet via to a datacenter through SCADA, for analysis and action.

An attractive service is provided by freely mutually connecting existing IoT devices in a silo state for each private cloud via the Internet. An IoT connection system includes an IoT hub that is realized over a cloud and a local IoT router that is connected to the IoT hub. The IoT hub includes at least one of a first driver configured to connect the IoT hub to a private cloud to which a first device is able to be connected and a second driver configured to connect a second device to the IoT hub. The IoT router includes a third driver configured to connect a third device to the IoT router. The IoT router is an information processing terminal that is able to communicate with a predetermined base station. The third device is connected to the IoT hub using a tethering function of the IoT router in a specific situation.

ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION POWER GENERATOR
20220247210 · 2022-08-04 ·

An electromagnetic induction power generator includes a magnetic core attachable to a power transmission/distribution line, a power generating coil wound around the magnetic core, and a switching power supply circuit that converts AC appearing at both ends of the power generating coil into DC. The switching power supply circuit stops its switching operation based on a DC voltage level. The stop of the switching operation increases reactive power, allowing a stable power generating operation, i.e., a stable supply of active power irrespective of the amount of current flowing through the power transmission/distribution line. In addition, the amount of the reactive power can be finely adjusted based on the length of a period during which the switching operation is stopped, allowing a finer control of the reactive power.
