Electric field grading protection design surrounding a galvanic or capacitive isolator
Micro-isolators exhibiting enhanced isolation breakdown voltage are described. The micro-isolators may include an electrically floating ring surrounding one of the isolator elements of the micro-isolator. The isolator elements may be capacitor plates or coils. The electrically floating ring surrounding one of the isolator elements may reduce the electric field at the outer edge of the isolator element, thereby enhancing the isolation breakdown voltage.
Electrical insulating resin composition for partial-discharge resistance
An object of the present invention is to provide an improved partial discharge-resistant electrical insulating resin composition that can inhibit deterioration of an insulator due to partial discharge. The partial discharge-resistant electrical insulating resin composition of the present invention comprises boehmite alumina and a resin.
Power cord assembly containing recycled and renewable polymeric compositions
A power cord assembly having a total recycled and renewable content of at least 25 wt. % is described. The power cord assembly can contain a plug at a first end of the power cord configured to be connected to a power source, a connector part at a second end of the power cord opposite to the plug and configured to be connected to an electrical or electronic device, one or more electrically conductive wires extending from the plug to the connector part, one or more insulators surrounding the one or more electrically conductive wires, and an outer jacket extending from the plug to the connector and surrounding the one or more insulators, where at least one of the plug, the connector part, the insulator, or the outer jacket contains a chemically recycled and/or renewably sourced thermoplastic block co-polymer elastomer.
COMPOSITION AND METHOD
A composition is described, having a relative permittivity, preferably a real part ε′γ of a relative complex permittivity εγ, substantially inversely proportional to the square of a frequency of an alternating electrical field, preferably due to an electromagnetic field, for example applied thereto and/or propagating therethrough.
Curable two-part coatings for conductors
A compositional kit for forming a composition includes a first composition and a second composition which are separate. The first composition includes a filler, a cross-linking agent and an emissivity agent; and the second composition includes a silicate binder. Methods for making a compositional kit and for making a coated overhead conductor are also provided.
COATED CONDUCTORS
An assembly can include a housing that includes opposing ends, a longitudinal axis, an axial length defined between the opposing ends, a maximum transverse dimension that is less than the length and an interior space; circuitry disposed at least in part in the interior space; and a coated electrical conductor electrically coupled to the circuitry where the coated electrical conductor includes an electrical conductor that includes copper and a length defined by opposing ends, a polymeric electrical insulation layer disposed about at least a portion of the length of the electrical conductor, and a barrier layer disposed about at least a portion of the polymeric electrical insulation layer.
Hydrogel network
The invention provides a hydrogel network comprising a plurality of hydrogel objects, wherein each of said hydrogel objects comprises: a hydrogel body, and an outer layer of amphipathic molecules, on at least part of the surface of the hydrogel body, wherein each of said hydrogel objects contacts another of said hydrogel objects to form an interface between the contacting hydrogel objects. A process for producing the hydrogel networks is also provided. The invention also provides an electrochemical circuit and hydrogel component for mechanical devices comprising a hydrogel network. Various uses of the hydrogel network are also described, including their use in synthetic biology and as components in electrochemical circuits and mechanical devices.
