SURGE PROTECTIVE DEVICE MODULES AND ASSEMBLIES
A surge protective device (SPD) assembly includes a base and an SPD module configured to be mounted on the base. The SPD module includes an SPD module PCB, an SPD module circuit, and a thermal disconnector mechanism. The SPD module circuit is at least partly embodied in the SPD module PCB and includes an overvoltage protection component mounted on the SPD module PCB. The thermal disconnector mechanism is mounted on the SPD module PCB in a ready configuration. The thermal disconnector mechanism is operative to transition from the ready configuration to an actuated configuration responsive to sufficient overheating of the overvoltage protection component. When the thermal disconnector mechanism is positioned in the ready configuration, the SPD circuit forms a first current path through the overvoltage protection component. When the thermal disconnector mechanism is positioned in the actuated configuration, the thermal disconnector mechanism forms an alternate second current path that bypasses the overvoltage protection component.
Self-testing ground fault circuit interrupter and associated method
A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) including separable contacts, a ground fault detection circuit structured to detect a ground fault based and to output a trip signal in response to detecting the ground fault, a trip circuit structured to trip open the separable contacts in response to the trip signal, a test button structured to be actuated by a user, a test unit structured to sequentially perform a GFCI self-test sequence and a ground fault test sequence in response to actuation of the test button, wherein the test unit is structured to determine whether the GFCI passed the GFCI self-test sequence and to output in an alarm signal in response to determining that the GFCI failed the GFCI self-test sequence, and an indicator structured to receive the alarm signal and to provide a visual or audible indication in response to receiving the alarm signal.
Fault circuit interrupter device
In one embodiment, there is a fault interrupter device comprising at least one sensor comprising at least one first transformer having at least one outer region forming an outer periphery and at least one inner hollow region. There is also at least one second transformer that is disposed in the inner hollow region of the at least one first transformer. The transformers can be substantially circular in configuration, and more particularly, ring shaped. In another embodiment there is a rotatable latch which is used to selectively connect and disconnect a set of separable contacts to selectively disconnect power from the line side to the load side. The rotatable latch is in one embodiment coupled to a reset button. In at least one embodiment there is a slider which is configured to selectively prevent the manual tripping of the device.

Differential current sensing bussing method
The line power and neutral conductors for a circuit interrupter such as a miniature circuit breaker, using ground fault sensing via a current transformer, are arranged as a rigid conductor formed from a flat plate and surrounding and holding an insulated flexible conductor when passing through the Ground Fault Interrupter current transformer. The rigid conductor can provide a shaped current path to maximize the effectiveness of the current transformer.

An electrical circuit and a method for regulating current and providing a circuit breaker to the electrical circuit. The circuit includes a bidirectional cell including a set of forward switches for power flow during a forward mode of operation and a set of reverse switches for providing reverse power flow during a reverse mode of operation, a control inductor for controlling current flow during the reverse mode of operation, and a voltage clamping switch configured to provide the control inductor in the circuit during the reverse mode of operation and remove the control inductor from the circuit during the forward mode of operation. The circuit is operated in at least the reverse mode of operation.
