MULTI-PACK AND COMPONENT CONNECTIVITY DETECTION
Techniques for enabling multi-pack and component connectivity detection are provided. In some configurations, individual PCMs can test the connectivity between components of a device without the need to operate the components. For example, PCMs configured in accordance with the present disclosure can test the connectivity between a motherboard, a display circuit, a camera, and a number of battery packs without the need to operate the motherboard, display circuit, camera, etc. In some configurations, conductors that are part of cables and connectors used to connect the components can be used to determine the state of one or more connections. When a signal that runs through the conductors meets one or more criteria, the PCMs of a device cause a predetermined delay prior to enabling one or more components. By testing the connectivity between components before each component transitions to an operational state, other problems caused by faulty connections can be mitigated.
ELECTRICAL RECEPTACLE FAULT PROTECTION
An electrical receptacle contains a plug outlet that has a pair of contacts for electrical connection to respective hot and neutral power lines. A controlled switch, such as a TRIAC, is connected in series relationship between the outlet contact and the hot power line. Sensors in the receptacle outputs signals to a processor having an output coupled to the control terminal of the controlled switch. The processor outputs an activation signal or a deactivation signal to the controlled switch in response to received sensor signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.
Power Converter Failure Detection and Prevention
A power device includes one or more electrical components, the electrical components including one or more physical attribute. The power device includes one or more sensors configured to monitor the attribute(s). The power device includes a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including one or more alerting rule. The power device includes one or more processors configured for retrieving the one or more alerting rule from the storage medium. The processors are configured for monitoring one or more sensor value from the sensor(s), wherein the sensor values are associated with the attribute(s). The processors are configured for evaluating the at least one alerting rule during the monitoring, and when the one or more alerting rule results in a pending failure condition, sending a notification to a user.
Supply protection circuit that protects power transistor from a supply signal of an incorrect polarity
An input node is configured to receive a supply signal which may be of a first polarity or a second polarity opposite the first polarity. A high input current circuit couples the input node to an output node through at least one power transistor having a control electrode. A low input current circuit couples a supply current from the input node to control circuit configured to control the power transistor. A circuit is provided to detect polarity reversal with respect to the supply signal. A protection circuit for the low input current circuit operates to decouple the control circuit from the input node if the supply signal has the second polarity. A protection circuit for the high input current circuit operates to short-circuit the control electrode of the power transistor to the current path provided by the power transistor between the input node and the output node.

Method and device for matching the voltage of the smoothing capacitor of a DC/DC converter before a high-voltage battery is connected
The invention relates to a method and to a device for operating a bidirectional voltage transformer connectable to a primary battery and having a primary-side smoothing capacitor, an inductive transformer, and a secondary-side clamping capacitor, wherein, before the primary battery is connected, a voltage at the primary-side smoothing capacitor is matched to a voltage of the primary battery by a cyclical transfer of charge from the secondary-side clamping capacitor. The voltage of the primary-side smoothing capacitor is matchable in this way to the voltage of the primary battery before the primary battery is connected, and current spikes thus avoided during connection of the primary battery.
