A scanner assembly (100) may include a housing (102) having abase (104) forming a cavity with an open top. Further, the housing (102) may include a platen (106) having a top surface (108) and a bottom surface (110). The bottom surface (110) may be attached to the base (104) around a periphery of the cavity. Furthermore, the housing (102) may include a bezel (112) adhered to the top surface of the platen (106) to cover an edge region of the top surface (108). The bezel (112) may include a bottom surface (114) having an inclined notch (116). Furthermore, the scanner assembly (100) may include a scanner module (118) movably disposed in the housing (102) below the platen (106). The scanner module (118) may be in an optical communication with the inclined notch (116) to detect a home position.

A print media detection apparatus may include a movable scanner bar for scanning media, a feeder tray for supplying the print media, a print media indicator and a controller. The print media indicator may include a first portion to interact with the print media within the feeder tray and a second portion coupled to the first portion to move in response to movement of the first portion. The scanner bar is to sense the second portion of the media indicator. The controller is to determine a characteristic of the print media within the feeder tray based upon sensing of the second portion by the scanner bar.

A point cloud file transmission method includes obtaining a point cloud file and extension information corresponding to the point cloud file, the point cloud file comprising point cloud data, the extension information providing information for a service. The service is implemented using the point cloud data. The method further includes indicating a correspondence between an item of the extension information and an item in the point cloud file by (i) the item in the point cloud file indicating an index of the item of the extension information or (ii) a file level location of the item of the extension information. The method further includes transmitting the point cloud file and the extension information to a receiving device, so that the receiving device performs the service using the point cloud data based on the extension information.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: control an operation of the information processing apparatus by executing a control program; in response to reception of an instruction to enter a power-supply off state, determine whether a first power-supply off state is allowed to be entered, the first power-supply off state being a state in which, while a current operation state is held without execution of a restart of the control program, the operation is stopped; in response to a determination result indicating that the first power-supply off state fails to be entered, perform a redetermination after a lapse of a set time, the redetermination determining whether the first power-supply off state is allowed to be entered; and in response to the redetermination determining that the first power-supply off state is allowed to be entered, cause the first power-supply off state to be entered, and, in response to the redetermination determining that the first power-supply off state is not allowed to be entered, cause a second power-supply off state to be entered, the second power-supply off state being a state in which, after the control program is restarted and an initialization process is performed, the operation is stopped.

A system includes an information processing apparatus that provides a chat service and an image processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus includes a receiving unit that receives a reading setting based on an instruction from a user and a transmission unit that transmits the received reading setting to the image processing apparatus. An image forming apparatus comprises: an image processor to convert image data based on a conversion condition; an image forming unit to form an image based on the converted image data using a replaceable member; a memory to store the image data and the converted image data; a sensor to perform measurement on a test image; and a controller. If the replacement of the replaceable member is detected while forming images, the controller controls the image forming unit to form the test image and generates the conversion condition based on a result of the measurement on the test image. If the replacement of the replaceable member is detected while forming the images, the controller further controls the image processor to convert the image data stored in the memory based on the generated conversion condition.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a conveying roller to convey sheets of different types along a conveyance path, a first sensor to detect a sheet being conveyed at a first position, a second sensor to detect the sheet being conveyed at a second position that is at a fixed distance downstream of the first position, a registration roller pair that is downstream of the second sensor, and a control unit. The control unit calculates a transit time for the sheet between the first position and the second position according detection results from the first and second sensors, and then sets a conveying distance for the sheet after the second position to be used for aligning the sheet against the registration roller pair based on the calculated transit time of the sheet.
