The method includes connecting to a first network associated with a first Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) of the UE; receiving, from the first network, a first configuration indicating that the UE is allowed to transmit an assistance information message for switching to a second network associated with a second USIM of the UE, the first configuration further including a configuration of a timer; transmitting, to the first network, the assistance information message, the assistance information message including information of a preferred Radio Resource Control (RRC) state associated with the first network to indicate that the UE prefers to switch from an RRC_CONNECTED state associated with the first network to the preferred RRC state; and starting the timer upon transmitting the assistance information message.

IMPLEMENTING THE IDLE MODE WHILE OUT OF A RAN COVERAGE AREA
A method for a user equipment (UE) connected to a serving Radio Access Network (RAN) through a serving cell is provided. The serving RAN may include a Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN). The method receives, from the serving cell, satellite information regarding a coverage area of the serving RAN. After receiving the satellite information, the method determines, based on the satellite information, that the UE will be disconnected from the serving RAN by moving out of the coverage area of the serving RAN after a specific period of time. The method maintains an Access Stratum (AS) layer configuration of the UE without performing any task associated with an Idle mode of the UE while the UE is staying out of the coverage area of the serving RAN.

This disclosure describes a user equipment device (UE). The UE includes one or more antennas; one or more radios configured to perform cellular communication using a plurality of radio access technologies (RATs) that support voice over an Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS); and one or more processors coupled to the one or more radios. The one or more processors are configured to cause the UE to perform operations including: sending, to a communications network associated with a first RAT of the plurality of RATs, a first request for IMS registration, wherein the UE is camped on a first cell of the first RAT; determining, based on an IMS rejection failure, that the IMS registration failure is due to a temporary radio failure; and responsively attempting to perform the IMS registration on at least one other cell of the first RAT.

A (repeater) node may identify a first indication of a waveform switch associated with a first link between a base station and the node or a second link between the node and a UE. A waveform switch associated with the first link may be triggered by the base station or the node. A waveform switch associated with the second link may be triggered by the node or the UE. The waveform switch may correspond to a first switch from an OFDM waveform to an SC waveform or a second switch from the SC waveform to the OFDM waveform. The base station may transmit, to the node, an indication of a post-waveform switch resource mapping between a first waveform associated with the first link and a second waveform associated with the second link. The node may execute the waveform switch associated with the first link or the second link.
