Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving at an entitlement server an authentication request from a mobile device operating on a mobility network including a base station, identifying authorized network resources for the mobile device, and communicating to the mobile device a resource authorization message which causes the mobile device to update a device capabilities profile of the mobile device according to the authorized network resources for the mobile device, the resource authorization message further causing the mobile device to communicate an updated device capabilities profile to the base station for subsequent radio communication between the mobile device and the base station. METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING UDM UPDATE DATA FOR NPN
Disclosed is a method, performed by an access and mobility management function, of providing a user equipment (UE) with update information regarding at least one UE parameter. The method includes receiving, from the UE, a registration request message, transmitting, to a unified data management (UDM), a UE context management registration message based on the registration request message, receiving, from the UDM, update information regarding the UE parameter, in response to the UE context management registration message, wherein the update information regarding the UE parameter includes information regarding preferred SNPN and information regarding a list of group identifiers for network selection (GINs), and transmitting, to the UE, the update information regarding the UE parameter including the information regarding preferred SNPN and the information regarding the list of GINs.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING UDM UPDATE DATA FOR NPN
Disclosed is a method, performed by an access and mobility management function, of providing a user equipment (UE) with update information regarding at least one UE parameter. The method includes receiving, from the UE, a registration request message, transmitting, to a unified data management (UDM), a UE context management registration message based on the registration request message, receiving, from the UDM, update information regarding the UE parameter, in response to the UE context management registration message, wherein the update information regarding the UE parameter includes information regarding preferred SNPN and information regarding a list of group identifiers for network selection (GINs), and transmitting, to the UE, the update information regarding the UE parameter including the information regarding preferred SNPN and the information regarding the list of GINs.
APPLICATION CLIENT AND EDGE APPLICATION SERVER DISCOVERY WITH SERVICE AUTHORIZATION AND LOCATION SERVICE
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first edge application server (EAS) discovery message from an application client that is external to the UE. The UE may transmit a second EAS discovery message to an edge enabler server (EES) based at least in part on the first EAS discovery message. The UE may receive, from the EES, an EAS response message. The EAS response message may indicate a failure of a discovery request associated with the application client or the EAS response message may indicate an EAS associated with the application client. The UE may transmit an indication of the failure of the discovery request or an indication of the EAS to the application client. Numerous other aspects are described.
APPLICATION CLIENT AND EDGE APPLICATION SERVER DISCOVERY WITH SERVICE AUTHORIZATION AND LOCATION SERVICE
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first edge application server (EAS) discovery message from an application client that is external to the UE. The UE may transmit a second EAS discovery message to an edge enabler server (EES) based at least in part on the first EAS discovery message. The UE may receive, from the EES, an EAS response message. DEVICED BASED NETWORK STEERING
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, attaching a mobile device to an initial bearer at a base station of a mobility network, monitoring a performance parameter for communication by the mobile device on the initial bearer, requesting, by the mobile device, information about other bearers at the base station of the mobility network, wherein the requesting is responsive to the performance parameter failing to exceed a predetermined performance threshold, receiving at the mobile device, network information about other bearers at the base station of the mobility network, the network information including current capacity information for the other bearers, selecting, by the mobile device, a selected alternative bearer based on the information about other bearers, and communicating, to the mobility network, a user equipment (UE) capabilities message identifying the selected alternative bearer and omitting the initial bearer to change bearers to obtain better communication performance at the mobile device. Other embodiments are disclosed.
DEVICED BASED NETWORK STEERING
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, attaching a mobile device to an initial bearer at a base station of a mobility network, monitoring a performance parameter for communication by the mobile device on the initial bearer, requesting, by the mobile device, information about other bearers at the base station of the mobility network, wherein the requesting is responsive to the performance parameter failing to exceed a predetermined performance threshold, receiving at the mobile device, network information about other bearers at the base station of the mobility network, the network information including current capacity information for the other bearers, selecting, by the mobile device, a selected alternative bearer based on the information about other bearers, and communicating, to the mobility network, a user equipment (UE) capabilities message identifying the selected alternative bearer and omitting the initial bearer to change bearers to obtain better communication performance at the mobile device. SELF-HEALING OF REPEATER FORMATION IN A NETWORK
An example method includes, in response to receiving a gateway heartbeat message from a lighting system non-connected gateway RF node, incrementing a gateway heartbeat counter. In response to receiving a repeater RF node heartbeat message from a network RF node of lighting system non-connected network RF nodes set to a repeater role, incrementing a repeater heartbeat counter. In response to a cycle time exceeding a cycle time timeout, the gateway heartbeat counter not exceeding a gateway heartbeat threshold, and the repeater heartbeat counter exceeding a repeater heartbeat threshold, selecting a selected network RF node of the RF nodes set to the repeater role. Transmitting, via an extended star wireless network, a registration message to the selected network RF node. In response to transmitting the registration message and having a network RF node role state set to an unconnected role, setting the network RF node role state to a connected role.
SELF-HEALING OF REPEATER FORMATION IN A NETWORK
An example method includes, in response to receiving a gateway heartbeat message from a lighting system non-connected gateway RF node, incrementing a gateway heartbeat counter. In response to receiving a repeater RF node heartbeat message from a network RF node of lighting system non-connected network RF nodes set to a repeater role, incrementing a repeater heartbeat counter. In response to a cycle time exceeding a cycle time timeout, the gateway heartbeat counter not exceeding a gateway heartbeat threshold, and the repeater heartbeat counter exceeding a repeater heartbeat threshold, selecting a selected network RF node of the RF nodes set to the repeater role. Transmitting, via an extended star wireless network, a registration message to the selected network RF node. In response to transmitting the registration message and having a network RF node role state set to an unconnected role, setting the network RF node role state to a connected role.
