The pressure-activated valve opens when pressure within the chamber rises above a cracking pressure. A filter in the brewing chamber may filter out solids while passing liquids out of the pressure-activated valve. In some embodiments, a high-pressure beverage filter assembly is disclosed which is configured to mate to a beverage press. Also disclosed is an integrated beverage press incorporating a high-pressure beverage filter assembly and features of a beverage press in a single unit.

The upward flow extraction method can comprise loading extraction material into an extraction cell having a bottom portion and a top portion; introducing a first aliquot of extraction medium through the bottom portion of the extraction cell; expelling gas from the extraction cell through the top portion of the extraction cell; closing the top portion of the extraction cell and increasing the pressure in the extraction cell as extraction medium flows into the bottom portion of the extraction cell; stopping the flow of extraction medium into the extraction cell; steeping the extraction material in the extraction medium under pressure to produce an extract; and introducing a second aliquot of extraction medium through the bottom portion of the extraction cell to push extract through top portion of the extraction cell.

A method of preparing a tea beverage in a capsule-based brewing device is provided, the device comprising an infusion chamber (10); a capsule holder (20) sized and shaped so as to receive a capsule (30); a filter (25); an openable and closable passage (29) which terminates in an orifice (40); a vessel (60) located beneath the orifice (40) and having a spout (63); the method comprising the steps of: introducing liquid and infusible beverage material from the capsule (30) into the infusion chamber (10) so as to brew the beverage; and then after brewing has taken place for a sufficient time, opening the passage (29) to allow the beverage to flow from the infusion chamber (10) through the filter (25), along the passage (29), through the orifice (40), into the vessel (60) and out from the spout (63).

DEVICE FOR PREPARING A COFFEE PRODUCT

A device for preparing a coffee product comprises a preparation chamber (135) which is intended and configured to receive and collect a quantity of ground coffee in a coffee bed (125), and pump means (15) for carrying water under increased pressure to the preparation chamber. The preparation chamber (135) is provided with a water inlet (136) for water at increased temperature and pressure on a first side of the coffee bed (125) and with an outlet (137) on an opposite side beyond the coffee bed (125). The outlet is coupled via a liquid conduit (20) to an outflow (6) at which the coffee product can be taken away. The device is provided with an electronic control system (17) which imposes a preparation cycle each time a product is prepared. Accommodated here in the liquid conduit (20) between the outlet (137) of the preparation chamber (135) and the outflow (6) at which the coffee product can be taken away is an adjustable restriction (30) with a passage (35) which is proportionally adjustable and controllable by the control system (17).

There is provided a coffee extraction device including an extractor that has a hollow portion which has an internal space for containing a liquid, a bottom portion which is disposed below the hollow portion, and a tube portion which ascends from the bottom portion and descends again so as to discharge the liquid to a lower portion of the bottom portion, and a filter portion that is capable of filtering ground coffee beans, and that has an engagement portion for engaging with the extractor in order to be placed at a predetermined position from the bottom portion of the extractor. The filter portion is placed in the hollow portion of the extractor so that the tube portion achieves a siphon effect.

A cyclic preheating coffee pot includes a main body, a brewing cavity, a water supply apparatus, a heating apparatus, a water inlet pipe and a water outlet pipe mounted on the main body, and a control apparatus, a driving apparatus and a flow dividing structure mounted on the main body. The water supply apparatus is communicated with the heating apparatus, the water supply apparatus is configured to supply water to the heating apparatus, and the water outlet pipe is communicated with the heating apparatus and the flow dividing structure. The flow dividing structure includes a first branch. The water outlet pipe is communicated with the water supply apparatus via the first branch, such that the water supply apparatus, the water inlet pipe, the heating apparatus, the water outlet pipe and the first branch are communicated and form a cyclic pipeline provided with a one-way valve apparatus or a water pump.

BEVERAGE BREWING DEVICES

A beverage system is provided. An adaptor assembly can be used with the beverage system and include a brew basket defining a cavity therein and having a fluid outlet. The assembly also includes a pod adapter and a filter adaptor receivable within the cavity in the brew basket. The pod adapter has at least one engagement feature arranged to be received within at least one corresponding slot in the brew basket. The filter adaptor includes a showerhead coupled to the filter body, the showerhead being arranged to receive fluid through an opening therein and to distribute fluid into the filter body. An internal storage cavity can be arranged within the housing of the beverage system for storing the adaptors. Additionally, a flow path cover can be positioned on the beverage system and configured to prevent unintentional water discharge from a brew chamber.
