A brewing assembly, which has a brewing chamber having a first axis and for receiving a sealed capsule of brewing material; a sealing piston mounted to move along a second axis to and from a sealing position sealing the brewing chamber; a first unloading device movable along the brewing chamber to at least partly expel the capsule from the brewing chamber; a second unloading device movable with respect to the brewing chamber to engage the at least partly expelled capsule and unload it to the outside; and a brewing body, which defines the brewing chamber, supports the first unloading device, and is mounted to oscillate, about a third axis substantially perpendicular to the first and second axes, between a first position, in which the first and second axis coincide, and a second position, in which the first and second axis extend on opposite sides of the second unloading device.

The present disclosure relates to a consumable (30) for use in a dispenser (10) for preparation of foodstuff products, the consumable (30) comprising a sealed housing (76) comprising at least one rigid wall portion (82) that is impermeable to liquid, a primary inlet portion (140) arranged to enable pressurized water flow into the housing (76), a secondary inlet portion (144) arranged to enable an auxiliary fluid flow, particularly an air flow, into the housing (76), at least one outlet portion (142) arranged to enable the processed foodstuff product to flow out of the housing (76), at least one containing chamber (102) arranged in the housing (76), the chamber containing a food substance (104), particularly a ground substance, at least one flow processing chamber (118) arranged to process a liquid solution that flows through the flow processing chamber (118), a flow transfer wall (110) arranged between the containing chamber (102) and the flow processing chamber (118), the flow transfer wall (110) comprising a defined flow opening (116) that connects the flow processing chamber (118) and the containing chamber (102), wherein the primary inlet portion (140) is connected to the containing chamber (102), and wherein the secondary inlet portion (144) is connected to the flow processing chamber (118) such that the auxiliary fluid flow is entrained by a liquid foodstuff flow that flows through the flow processing chamber (118) when processing the foodstuff product. A machine for preparing a product from a capsule that contains desired ingredients is provided. The machine includes a housing, a brew chamber disposed in the housing for holding a capsule and an injection system adapted for injecting a fluid into said capsule. In one embodiment, the injection system has a plurality of injection nozzles that are each adapted for piercing a lid of a capsule. In another embodiment, the brew chamber has at least one movable portion that is adapted to move to receive different sized capsules.

Disclosed is a capsule container for producing an infused beverage by an infusion assembly operating with a capsule or pod containing an aromatic substance. At least one output passage for the infused beverage is obtained in the capsule container. Such output passage is engaged by a valve member axially translatable between a closed position of the output passage, when there is no capsule in the container, and an open position of the output passage when there is a capsule in the container.

A dispensing assembly for a machine for preparing a liquid food product by means of capsules including a casing having an inlet passage, suitable for enabling insertion of a capsule into the dispensing assembly, and an outlet passage, suitable for enabling discharge of the capsule from the dispensing assembly, an infusion chamber which comprises two chamber parts, at least one of which defines a housing for at least partially receiving the capsule, retention elements, for keeping the capsule in a retaining position, essentially coaxial to the two chamber parts, the retention elements being within the casing in an intermediate position between the inlet and outlet passages, to be operative between the two chamber parts when they are in a spaced-apart position, an actuation system, operable for causing relative movements between the two chamber parts according to an actuation axis, between the spaced-apart position and a close position, a guide member mounted at the inlet passage to be displaceable between an inoperative position and an operative position, in which access to the inlet passage is allowed or prevented, respectively, a longitudinally extended pusher member engaged in a respective guide of the guide member, to be displaceable according to a respective sliding axis between a first position and a second position, the sliding axis being generally transverse to the actuation axis when the guide member is in the operative position.

With the guide member in the operative position and with the first chamber part and the second chamber part in the spaced-apart position, a displacement of the pusher member from the first position to the second position causes a thrust on the capsule towards the outlet passage, in order to free the capsule from the retention means.

The invention relates to a domestic machine for dispensing beverage, comprising a removable water tank, a water filtration system, at least one circulation pump for moving the water to a dispensing point associated with a beverage capsule, the machine comprising a heating section comprising a heater configured to heat the water to be dispensed, a cooling section comprising a cooling device configured to cool the water to be dispensed, and a carbonating section comprising a carbonating device configured to dissolve CO.sub.2 in the water to be dispensed, the machine comprising a control panel for selecting a hot drink, a cold drink or a carbonated drink, by activating at least one of said sections.

An apparatus for preparing a quantity of beverage suitable for consumption, includes a first and a second brew chamber part to form a brew chamber for holding an exchangeable capsule as well as a fluid dispensing device for supplying an amount of fluid, such as water, under pressure to the exchangeable capsule. The first and the second brew chamber part are movable relative to each other between a first relative position, and a second relative position. The first relative position defines an open state in which the capsule can be inserted into the brew chamber. The second relative position defines a closed state allowing the brew chamber to enclose the capsule. A first biasing member biases the capsule towards the second brew chamber part. A second biasing biases the first brew chamber part and the second brew chamber part towards each other. The first biasing member has a higher stiffness than the second biasing member. Also a system is provided comprising the apparatus as well as at least one capsule to be used by the apparatus.

A machine for preparing a beverage (3) from a flavouring ingredient (2) has a beverage processing unit (10,20) with: a holder (10) delimiting a mixing chamber (11) in which the flavouring ingredient is received, held and mixed with water (4) during beverage preparation; and a water inlet (22) configured to guide water (4) into the mixing chamber (11) where it is mixed with the flavouring ingredient (2) to form the beverage (3). The machine (1) has a thermal conditioner (30) that has a body (31) with: a guide (32) for guiding the water (4) towards the beverage processing unit (10,20); and a thermal device (33) that is able to be powered to thermally conditioning the guide (32). The machine (1) has a liquid driving arrangement (5) with: a driving mode to drive the water (4); and a stationary mode. The machine has a control unit (7) to control the thermal device (33) and the driving arrangement (5), the control unit being selectively in: a first control mode in which the thermal device (33) is powered so that the water (4) located along the guide (32) is thermally conditioned; and a second control mode different to the first control mode. The control unit (7) has a selection arrangement for selecting one of a first beverage preparation mode using the first control mode and a second beverage preparation mode using the second control mode. In the second control mode the thermal device is unpowered or powered at a powering level that is significantly below a powering level of the thermal device (33) in the first control mode. Upon selection via the selection arrangement (71) of the second beverage preparation mode, the control unit (7) is configured to switch the driving arrangement (5) from the stationary to the driving mode and/or maintain the driving arrangement (5) in the driving mode.

A beverage system for making a beverage, including: a single-serve capsule including: a base element with a cavity, in which a raw beverage material is provided; a flange extending outwardly from the base element, the flange comprising a top side and an opposing bottom side; and a cover that is fastened to the top side of the flange to close the cavity, the cover is made of a different material than the base element; the single- serve capsule is free of a filter; the capsule has an identifier, which makes it possible to individualize the respective single-serve capsule, the identifier comprises a barcode that is provided on the bottom side of the flange; and a beverage machine including: a sensor/detector configured to read the barcode, a media chute configured to receive and support the single-serve capsule, and a pump controlled to supply water into the single-serve capsule.
