GRILL
20220079382 · 2022-03-17 · ·

An electric grill configured for cooking food and a method of cooking food using the electric grill includes a housing that defines an open interior and an aperture. Element frames are positioned at the sides of the open interior. Electric heating elements are positioned within the element frames and are positioned within the open interior exterior of the aperture in a direction towards the housing. The electric heating elements generate IR energy that is directed towards a middle of the open interior below the aperture. Heat energy exits the housing through the aperture by radiative heat transfer and convective heat transfer. Such convective heat transfer includes air currents circulating within the open interior past the electric heating elements and out of the aperture.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE COOKING OF FOODSTUFF FOR ROTISSERIE GRILLING APPLICATIONS

Exemplary embodiments of a system and method for improving rotisserie grilling applications are disclosed. The system may include a support frame comprising at least one central shaft, a first side shaft, and a second side shaft. The system may also include a basket coupled to the two side shafts. The basket may comprise a locking device that couples to the first side shaft and a side shaft engagement mechanism that couples to the second side shaft. The basket may define a volume for receiving foodstuff. The side shaft engagement mechanism may comprise a clamp, such as clamp having a substantially c-shaped geometry. The support frame may further comprise a side shaft mounting unit that receives the one central shaft within a central portion of its geometry. The side shaft mounting unit may further comprise cylindrical shaped couplers for holding two side shafts relative to the central shaft.

SOLID FUEL COOKING RANGE

A solid fuel cooking range is described herein. Embodiments enable the user to cook food on an upper grill while simultaneously heating a separate dish in a lower oven. In certain embodiments, heat may be applied to the oven from both the top and bottom. Heat and airflow may be controlled using a shroud which does not enclose the sides of the upper cooking area and separate end plates. Embodiments may be portable and lightweight which enables the solid fuel cooking range to be used while traveling and in emergency situations.

System and Method for Collecting and Annotating Cooking Images for Training Smart Cooking Appliances
20210228022 · 2021-07-29 ·

The method and system disclosed herein presents a food preparation system that provides a user-friendly data collection and data annotation process that leverages crowd-sourced data to reduce the prohibitive costs associated with developing an extensive training set using dedicated cooking experiments and specialized manual annotation efforts. The food preparation system and corresponding method collect one or more data types (e.g., structured data such as temperature and weight data, and unstructured data such as images and thermal maps) and allow the collected data to be annotated by human users in order to provide information regarding the process of cooking, as well as food item identity, location, and/or outline information. A combination of image processing and user input is utilized in order to create models with food recognition and determining cooking progress.

Counter top cooking appliance

A countertop electric appliance optimally performs a variety of cooking modes with both radiant and convective heat sources as well as control means for controlling the timing and intensity of the heat sources. A driver turns food about either a horizontal or a vertical axis of rotation suitable for the specific food and recipe. A hinged door supports the food to be cooked so that in one location the food is caused to be turned by the drive means and in another location the food is loaded into or removed from the appliance, external of the cooking compartment, to be easily handled by the operator.

Skewer rack assembly

A pair of steel skewer racks can be used with flat skewers straddling them. A slanted base face outbound from the vertical support walls to create a wing for rising heat. The inner edge of the slanted base rises slightly above the grill under the vertical support wall. Heat is directed into the central cooking area and away from the skewer tip and handle exposed to the outside area of the opposing racks. The chef's rack has a horizontal groove with a locking lip to lock a food laden skewer in either an up or a down orientation. Vertical slots provide the skewer to be locked at a 90-degree orientation. At the top of the rear rack are semi-circle grooves. The independent racks can be separated to accommodate any length skewer or nested together.

Grill Rotating Assembly
20210298520 · 2021-09-30 ·

A grill assembly for rotating food on a grill in a single motion. The grill assembly includes a top and bottom rack that form an interior space to receive food. The racks include a handle to rotate the racks from a first side to a second side to cook each side of the food. A security bar extends from the rack to prevent the assembly from falling into the grill during operation. The racks include a series of wire members that form apertures to allow thermal energy from a heat source, such as a grill, to cook the food. The racks are supported on a stand that can be positioned on the grill. The stand includes a support arm having a groove that receives the racks thereon, and an adjustable support leg that allows for the user to adjust the height position of the racks when disposed thereon.

Frying Assembly for Flipping Food
20210274972 · 2021-09-09 ·

A frying assembly for flipping or rotating food in a pan is provided. The frying assembly safely allows a user to flip the racks of the frying assembly holding food from a first side to a second side, without having to individually rotate each piece of food. The frying assembly includes a pair of movable racks that are separated to form an interior space that is able to receive food. The racks are movable relative to each other, such that foods of various sizes may be sandwiched between the racks. Each rack includes apertures that allow fluid, such as oil, to contact the food and thereby cook it and an interior face having a plurality of tines protruding towards the interior space for securing the food. A handle extends from a bracket that is in turn secured to the racks.
