A spatula for holding at least one slice of pizza. The spatula includes a base and a handle. The base and includes a planar top surface, a front portion, a back edge, a pair of side edges. Each of the side edges is linear and includes a flanged portion extending at an acute angle upward from the planar top surface. The back edge includes a flanged portion extending upward at an acute angle from the planar top surface. The flanged portions extending along only a portion of the side edges, leaving the front portion of the base unflanged. The flange portions serve to confine the pizza slice on the base while enabling it to be introduced and slid off of the base from the front of the base.

Tongs for food preparation and a method for preparing food using tongs are presented. The tongs include a first and second arm connected to a connecting portion, the arms including each a head portion including a gripper portion for grabbing a food item when the first and second heads are brought toward each other, the gripper portion defining a portion of a cavity for holding the food item, and a spreader portion for inserting into and spreading portions of a receiving food item when the first and second heads are moved away from each other, the gripper portions of the first and second head portions being both disposed on a first side of a center plane, the spreader portions of the first and second head portions being both disposed on a second side of the center plane.

A multipurpose kitchen utensil useful for wiping the wire elements of a whisk has a working portion containing a plurality of slots arranged arcuately and extending radially in spaced relation to one another and structured to receive the wire elements of a whisk. The utensil includes a central core member formed of a material capable of maintaining its shape when subject to external pressure, and an overlying layer of a more resilient material such as silicone. The radial slots extend inwardly and taper to an edge capable as serving as a spatula.

The molding/forming, stamping, cutting creation of the device can include but is not limited to laser cutting, water jetting, molding, forming and stamping. The device can be formed from a composition which may include, but is not limited to steel, stainless steel, metal, plastic, wood, rubber, plastic and synthetics.

A device for cleaning and oiling grill grates including a roller fashioned from an absorbent material rotatably mounted to a head plate, which in turn is mounted to a handle. The roller is used to apply cleaning or seasoning oil to grill grates. The plate includes a scraping element for scouring grill grates and an aperture through which a user may apply oil to the roller. The absorbent material may alternatively be mounted as a rectangular pad rather than a roller. A bottle opener attached to the handle of the device allows for the device to be conveniently hung and stored in a downward position.

An ergonomic cooktop scraping utensil has a planar body, a first side support, a second side support, a blade, and a handle. The blade is removably attached to a distal end of the planar body, and the handle is laterally connected between the upper ends of the first and second side supports. When force is applied to the handle, it is transmitted to the side supports and into both the proximal and distal ends of the utensil. The blade is configured to be oriented at a specified blade angle relative to the cooktop surface for efficient scraping action. The handle is designed to be operated by the heel of the palm of the user in order to minimize any moment arm, and thus strain, applied to the wrist of the user.

A cooking system includes a kitchen utensil and a cooking hob, wherein the kitchen utensil is provided with one or more sensors arranged on the kitchen utensil. The sensors include acceleration sensors, gyroscopic sensors, and inclination sensors. The cooking appliance is provided with a control unit configured to receive data from the sensors and to elaborate information on how the kitchen utensil is being used, and to control the cooking appliance accordingly.

A barbeque grill scraper that uses a scraping edge with a tooth formed of a wearable material to remove char and debris from the grill grates. The tooth fits between adjoining grill grates to guide the scraping edge and create a plurality of indents in the scraping edge that match the top profile of the grill grates. The grates are thus thoroughly cleaned without the health risks associated with wire brush cleaners. Another embodiment further utilizes a protruding cleaning tool to access and clean the lower sides and bottom of the grill grates.

A sheet-shaped cooked rice forming jig includes: a forming frame for forming a sheet-shaped cooked rice, the sheet-shaped cooked rice being formed by packing a cooked rice in the forming frame; and a leveling spatula for leveling the cooked rice packed in the forming frame into a sheet shape. The forming frame is a flat-plate-like member having a predetermined thickness where upper and lower surfaces of the forming frame are formed into a flat surface. The forming frame is formed in a window shape in an endless manner so as to form a cooked rice packing portion in a penetrating manner inside the forming frame. An extendable kitchen utensil operable to utilize a plurality of extendable and interchangeable culinary operational members. A culinary operational member includes a shank and an operational end constructed to perform culinary tasks. The extendable kitchen utensil includes a handle having a longitudinal channel and slot. The shank is configured to slidably traverse within the channel. A positioning member secured to the shank travels within the longitudinal slot in the handle to provide control of shank positioning. The handle and shank have formed connectors that mateably engage to provide defined securable positions for the shank. A support member that may also function as a bottle opener is connected to the handle and functions as a prop to improve sanitation. One specific embodiment of a culinary operational member is configured to mateably engage with one or more portions of internal wall sections of a conventional food jar to improve food removal.
