Silk processed, coated, repaired, and/or infused leather or leather articles, and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the invention relates to silk-coated leather apparel and products for use in home and automotive applications, such as leather coated with pure silk fibroin-based proteins or protein fragments thereof. In some embodiments, the invention relates to silk and silk protein fragments compositions, and methods of making and using thereof, for processing leather, for example coating leather, and/or repairing, hiding, or masking defects on or within leather, and/or as a mixing agent, additive, or replacement for leather processing chemicals.

The disclosure provides a non-ionic water based polyurethane, which is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 120-185 parts of polymeric polyol, 30-40 parts of diisocyanate, 0.3-0.6 parts of antioxidant, 0.1-0.5 parts of organometallic catalyst, 1-3 parts of intramolecular crosslinking agent, 4-6 parts of silicone oil, 2.1-5.5 parts of auxiliary, 1-2 parts of chain extender, and 600-750 parts of water, where the polymeric polyol includes a polyether diol and a polyester diol, and the auxiliary includes a wetting agent, a leveling agent and a defoamer. The non-ionic water based polyurethane provided by the disclosure has excellent water resistance, mechanical properties and compatibility. Moreover, no organic solvent is added, thus, the disclosure results in no secondary pollution, and ensures environmental protection.

Process for the preparation of aqueous polyurethane dispersions, containing from 20 to 50% by weight of an anionic polyurethane having a mean particle size from 1 to 15 micron and providing films with durable low gloss aspect.

A manufacturing method of decorated natural leather including the steps of: attaching a crusted leather (45) with its corium side by an adhesive (46) to a temporary carrier (47); inkjet printing the crusted leather (45) on its grain side with one or more pigmented inkjet inks; wherein the surface area of the temporary carrier (47) is larger than the surface area of the crusted leather (45).

A manufacturing method of decorated natural leather including the steps of: a) laser ablating part of a base coat on dyed crusted leather; and b) bleaching the laser ablated part with a bleaching agent.

A manufacturing method for decorating natural leather including the steps of: jetting a decorative image with one or more radiation curable inkjet inks on a leather surface; and curing the radiation curable inkjet inks jetted on the leather surface; wherein the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks include a colorant and a polymerizable composition containing 0 to 15.0 wt % of one or more polyfunctional polymerizable compounds and at least 85.0 wt % of one or more monofunctional polymerizable compounds with the weight percentages based on the total weight of the polymerizable composition; wherein the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks include 0 to 35.0 wt % of organic solvent; and at least 85.0 wt % of one or more monofunctional polymerizable compounds; and wherein the glass transition temperature of the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks (I) is less than 25° C.; and wherein one of the one or more radiation curable inkjet inks includes a white pigment in an amount of at least 17.5 wt % based on the total weight of the radiation curable inkjet ink.
