METHOD FOR PRODUCING RAIL
Provided is a method for producing a rail, with which the sweep in the height direction of a rail before straightening can be suppressed when producing standard rails specified in JIS E 1101. The method includes subjecting a bloom having a chemical composition containing, in mass %, C: 0.60% or more and 0.85% or less, Si: 0.10% or more and 1.00% or less, and Mn: 0.10% or more and 1.30% or less, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, to hot rolling to obtain a rail, subjecting the rail to accelerated cooling under conditions where a cooling start temperature T1 of rail head is 750° C. or higher and 850° C. or lower, a cooling stop temperature T2 of rail head is higher than 700 ° C., and T1−T2 is 20 ° C. or more, and then allowing the rail to be naturally cooled.
Zinc-coated hot formed steel component with tailored property
Methods of selectively cooling and quenching surface regions of high-strength transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel are provided. The method may comprise selectively cooling at least one region of an exposed surface of a hot-formed press-hardened component comprising a high-strength steel. Prior to selective cooling, the component has a microstructure comprising about 5% by volume retained austenite in a matrix of martensite. The selective cooling is conducted at a temperature of about 40 C. and forms at least one quenched region comprising about 2% by volume austenite. The TRIP steel may be zinc-coated and having a surface coating comprising zinc and substantially free of liquid metal embrittlement (LME). Zinc-coated hot-formed press-hardened components, including automotive components, formed from such methods are also provided.
Method for producing a low alloy steel for oil country tubular goods having excellent sulfide stress cracking resistance
The low alloy steel for oil country tubular goods according to the present invention has a chemical composition containing, by mass percent, C: 0.56 to 1.00%, Si: 0.05 to 0.50%, Mn: 0.05 to 1.00%, P: at most 0.025%, S: at most 0.010%, Al: 0.005 to 0.100%, Mo: 0.40 to 1.00%, V: 0.05 to 0.30%, and O: at most 0.010%, the balance being Fe and impurities, wherein the yield stress thereof is at least 862 MPa, and the half-value width of a [211] crystal surface obtained by X-ray diffraction is at most 0.50.
