The present invention has as its object the provision of a coated steel member and coated steel sheet excellent in hydrogen embrittlement resistance in a corrosive environment and methods for manufacturing the same. The coated steel member of the present invention is provided on its surface with an Al-Fe-based coating containing Cu and one or more of Mo, Ni, Mn, and Cr in a total by mass % of 0.12% or more by heating, cooling, and manufacturing a coated steel sheet having a layer containing Cu on its surface under predetermined conditions.

A gas exchange valve for an internal combustion engine may include a valve stem and a wear resistance improving functional layer. The valve stem may extend in an axial direction and may transition into a valve plate in the axial direction. The functional layer may include nickel and tungsten. The linerless engine block also includes a first bond coating disposed on the internal surface within the bore, and a second wear-resistant coating disposed on the first bond coating within the bore such that the second wear-resistant coating is adhered to the polymer matrix composite by the first bond coating. A method of forming the linerless engine block is also described.

Provided are an aluminum-zinc alloy plated steel sheet having excellent hot workability and corrosion resistance, and a method for manufacturing same. The plated steel sheet has an Al—Zn hot-dip aluminized coating layer on a base steel sheet, wherein: the coating layer is composed of a lower layer part and an upper layer part; the lower layer part comprises 40-50% of Fe, 50-60% of Al, 1% or less of Si, and other unavoidable impurities, on the basis of wt % of the lower layer part itself; the upper layer part comprises 10-30% of Zn, the balance of Al, and 0.05% or less of at least one of Cr, Mo, and Ni as an impurity, on the basis of wt % of the upper layer part itself; and the thickness of the upper layer part accounts for 30% or less of the total thickness of the coating layer.
Nuclear fuel claddings, production method thereof and uses of same against oxidation/hydriding
The invention relates to a nuclear fuel cladding comprising: i) a substrate containing a zirconium-based inner layer, optionally coated with at least one intermediate layer formed by at least one intermediate material selected from among tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten, niobium, vanadium, hafnium or the alloys thereof; and ii) at least one protective outer layer placed on the substrate and formed by a protective material selected from either chromium or an alloy of chromium. The nuclear fuel cladding produced using the method of the invention has improved resistance to oxidation/hydriding. The invention also relates to the method for the production of the nuclear fuel cladding by ion etching of the surface of the substrate and deposition of the outer layer on the substrate with a high power impulse magnetron sputtering method (HiPIMS), as well as to the use thereof to protect against oxidation and/or hydriding.
