SPHERICAL PARTICLES COMPRISING CARBON NANOMATERIAL-GRAFT-POLYOLEFIN AND METHODS OF PRODUCTION AND USES THEREOF

A nonlimiting example method of forming highly spherical carbon nanomaterial-graft-polyolefin (CNM-g-polyolefin) particles may comprising: mixing a mixture comprising: (a) a CNM-g-polyolefin comprising a polyolefin grafted to a carbon nanomaterial, (b) a carrier fluid that is immiscible with the polyolefin of the CNM-g-polyolefin, optionally (c) a thermoplastic polymer not grafted to a CNM, and optionally (d) an emulsion stabilizer at a temperature greater than a melting point or softening temperature of the polyolefin of the CNM-g-polyolefin and the thermoplastic polymer, when included, and at a shear rate sufficiently high to disperse the CNM-g-polyolefin in the carrier fluid; cooling the mixture to below the melting point or softening temperature to form the CNM-g-polyolefin particles; and separating the CNM-g-polyolefin particles from the carrier fluid.

The present invention provides a multi-stage filter system suitable for the production of drinking water from a wide variety of contaminated water sources. The use of a graphene oxide material to treat bone defects, and as an energy storage device, is also described.

The present invention provides a method of manufacturing of an electrostatic self-assembled Silicon/rGO/carbon nanofibers composite, the method including: (a) obtaining a Si@APTES solution by adding predetermined Si nanoparticles to the piranha solution, and stirring, filtering, washing and drying, and then, dispersing the dried Si nanoparticles in deionized water, by adding APTES, and then stirring; (b) obtaining a Si@N-doped GO dispersion by mixing a mixture with the addition of urea (CH4N2O) to the GO solution and the prepared Si@APTES in step (a) in an ethanol aqueous solution; (c) obtaining a Si@N-doped GO/CNF composite by adding a predetermined CNF to the prepared Si@N-doped GO dispersion in step (b) and stirring it; and (d) obtaining a thermally reduced Si@N-doped rGO/CNF composite through a heat treatment process to the prepared Si@N-doped GO/CNF composite in step (c).

Provided are a carbon-silicon three-dimensional structural composite material and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method includes: dissolving graphene quantum dots in ultrapure water, dropwise adding a CuCl.sub.2 or ZnCl.sub.2 solution, and performing oscillation to generate a mixed emulsifier; mixing the mixed emulsifier with a graphite oxide aqueous solution and a cyclohexane solution containing nanosilicon spheres, and performing homogenization to form a uniform oil-in-water emulsion; adding hydrazine hydrate into the obtained emulsion for reduction, and performing a hydrothermal reaction to obtain a reduced emulsion; and freeze-drying the reduced emulsion, performing washing with a washing liquid, and performing vacuum drying to obtain a carbon-silicon three-dimensional structural composite material.
