POROUS CERAMIC SUPPORTS FOR RESISTIVELY HEATED HYBRID GAS SORBENTS
A method of forming a product for separating gases includes forming a three-dimensional ceramic support, heating the three-dimensional ceramic support at a temperature for an effective duration of time to result in the conductive ceramic material having a plurality of intra-material pores, and incorporating a sorbent additive into the intra-material pores of the conductive ceramic material. Moreover, the three-dimensional ceramic support includes an electrically conductive ceramic material configured for joule heating.
Catalytic layer and use thereof in oxygen-permeable membranes
The invention relates to a catalytic activation layer for use in oxygen-permeable membranes, which can comprise at least one porous structure formed by interconnected ceramic oxide particles that conduct oxygen ions and electronic carriers, where the surface of said particles that is exposed to the pores is covered with nanoparticles made from a catalyst, the composition of which corresponds to the following formula: A.sub.1-x-yB.sub.xC.sub.yO.sub.R where: A can be selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, lanthanide metals and combinations thereof; B and C are metals selected from Al, Ga, Y, Se, B, Nb, Ta, V, Mo, W, Re, Mn, Sn, Pr, Sm, Tb, Yb, Lu and combinations of same; and A must always be different from B. 0.01<x<0.5; 0<y<0.3.
PROCESS REDUCING ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN GAS FERMENTATION
Converting carbon sources that would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere or discarded as waste to one or more products. Carbon sources may be dilute carbon containing streams that are purified to from about 90 vol.-% to about 95 vol.-% carbon compound. In certain aspects, also disclosed are the processes for producing desirable products, such as ethylene, from industrial waste streams.
Process and device for desulphurization and denitration of flue gas
The invention discloses a process and device for desulfurization-denitration of a flue gas. A desulfurization-denitration solution is used in an absorption tower to absorb sulfur dioxide and/or nitrogen oxides from the flue gas or various combustion tail (waste) gases. The desulfurization-denitration solution with absorbed sulfur dioxide and/or nitrogen oxides releases the sulfur dioxide and/or nitrogen oxides by heating and/or gas stripping and/or vacuum regeneration in a regeneration tower. The released sulfur dioxide and/or nitrogen oxides are further concentrated into a sulfur dioxide and/or nitrogen oxide product with a higher purity in a concentration tower. The regenerated desulfurization-denitration solution is recycled for use. The process and device have a wide range of industrial applications, and can be used for desulfurization and/or denitration of flue gases, incineration gases, coke-oven gases, synthetic waste gases from dyestuff plants, pollutant gases discharged from chemical fiber plants and other industrial raw material gases or waste gases containing SOx.
Process for removal of sulfides from carbon monoxide rich gas stream at ambient temperatures
Disclosed are methods and systems for desulfurization of CO-rich streams. A method can include contacting a CO-rich gas stream with activated carbon and/or contacting the CO-rich gas stream with a zinc-oxide sorbent material at a temperature of ( ) to 50 C. to remove at least a portion of the sulfur-containing compounds present in the stream.
