SEWAGE/WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM USING GRANULAR ACTIVATED SLUDGE AND MEMBRANE BIO-REACTOR AND SEWAGE/WASTEWATER TREATMENT METHOD USING THE SAME
20170203984 · 2017-07-20 ·

The present disclosure relates to a sewage/wastewater treatment system using granular activated sludge and a membrane bio-reactor and a sewage/wastewater treatment method using the same that are configured to effectively remove pollutants contained in raw water through a granulation tank in which the granular activated sludge is contained and to allow the raw water to be filtered through movable membranes located on the upper portion of the granulation tank. The system includes: an indirect aeration tank adapted to supply air thereto to allow dissolved oxygen contained in raw water to reach a saturation concentration; a granulation tank adapted to allow floating microorganisms contained in the treated water passing through the indirect aeration tank to be granulated and having a sludge blanket formed thereon; and movable membranes located on the upper portion of the granulation tank in such a manner as to be movable in the granulation tank.

LAUNDRY WASTEWATER BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT PREPARATION, AND DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TREATING LAUNDRY WASTEWATER BY USING SAME

The present invention includes: a laundry wastewater tank that temporarily stores laundry wastewater from a plant facility; a biological treatment tank in which the laundry wastewater from the laundry wastewater tank is aerated and mixed with activated sludge; a treated water tank that stores the treated laundry wastewater that has been biologically treated; and a treatment preparation supplying device that supplies a laundry wastewater biological treatment preparation to the biological treatment tank. The laundry wastewater biological treatment preparation is introduced when a change in water quality that deteriorates the biological treatment in the biological treatment tank is detected. Thus, biological treatment can be performed stably.

CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL DEGRADATION OF ETHER PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES
20250276924 · 2025-09-04 ·

Methods of chemically and biologically degrading ether per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are described. One example method of chemically and biologically degrading ether PFAS includes aerobic biodegradation with microorganisms and chemically degradation with UV light and sulfite. Examples of the method provide increased overall degradation of ether PFAS in wastewater.

Method for supplying return activated sludge

A method of processing waste water to produce a filtrate is provided. The method includes the steps of: introducing untreated wastewater to an inlet zone of a bioreactor; introducing a concentrate of treated waste water with at least 10,000 mg/L of total suspended solids into the inlet zone of the bioreactor to form a biological active mixture; aerating the biological active mixture in an aeration zone of the bioreactor to produce treated waste water; filtering the treated waste water to produce a filtrate and the concentrate, wherein the filtrate created by the filtering has total suspended solids of less than 10 mg/L; transferring at least a portion of the concentrate to the inlet zone of the bioreactor; and transferring the filtrate external to the bioreactor as clean water.

Separation of fluids containing solids

The methods and systems provide for the improvement in the separation of different portions of solids particles, such as bacteria, from a process stream. The methods use gas and control of fluid flow within a tank zone to provide for separation that is more selective.
