System and method for biologically treating wastewater using low density, high surface area substrates
A treatment system of the present invention generally includes a plurality of high surface area sheets anchored to a fixed base. The sheets are generally vertically oriented although able to flex and sway independently. Substantially all regions of substantially all sheets are aerated. The sheets are constructed of an open weave substrate that allows the diffusion of gas, nutrients and food, while protecting and serving as an attachment site for a variety of microbial colonies in both anoxic and aerobic zones. In use a system of the present invention is inserted into a wastewater reservoir, and aerated, for treatment of the wastewater.

Container, series of containers and method for treating liquids
The present invention relates preferably to ways of biologically treating liquids, and devices applicable in this respect. Processes and devices according to the present invention preferably relates to a system for biological treatment of liquid such as water, the system typically comprising a container having first and second gas supplies for creating a first and second circulating flow of liquid and bio-film carriers and preferably also for aerating the liquid. Preferred embodiments of a container according to the invention comprises an outflow channel extending along, and preferably throughout, a perimeter of an upper part of the container, the flow channel having a fluid penetrable wall section facing inwardly so that fluid may flow from the interior of the container, through the fluid penetrable wall section and into the outflow channel, and an outlet for leading fluid out from the outflow channel.
High Efficiency Wastewater Treatment System
A high efficiency treatment system (system) wastewater treatment system including a tank with a multi-chamber tank system that is designed to remove pollutants from domestic wastewater. Embodiments of the system consist of a pretreatment chamber, which is in fluid communication with an anoxic chamber, which is in fluid communication with an aeration chamber, which is in fluid communication with a clarification chamber, and which is in fluid communication with a polishing chamber. The system can be applied to remove suspended solids, BOD, ammonia, nitrate and TKN from wastewater.
MODULE, REACTOR, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TREATING WATER
The present disclosure provides a water treatment module, a bioreactor comprising one or more of such modules and a receptive water treatment system. Also provided herein is a method making use of the above module, bioreactor and system. The water treatment module comprises (i) at least one elongated gas enclosure comprising a gas inlet and two vertical walls, at least one vertical wall comprising a water-impermeable and gas-permeable membrane having a water-facing side and a gas-facing side, the two vertical walls separating between water external to said enclosure and gas within said enclosure, the gas enclosure being in a rolled or folded configuration to thereby define a convoluted horizontal path and one or more water-treatment spaces formed between opposite water facing sides of the enclosure; and (ii) a diffuser arrangement comprising gas diffusers configured for introducing a stream of gas into the one or more water treatment spaces.
Low Energy Aeration
A low energy apparatus to aerate liquid in a tank using pumped liquid flow over bubble aerators operating at low air pressure near the tank surface, with the flow of liquid and entrained bubbles then being directed through pipes at speeds sufficient to carry the bubbles to the bottom of the tank where the bubbles are released to rise to the top of the tank, infusing the liquid in the tank with air.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING ORGANIC MICROPOLLUTANTS (OMPS) IN WATER
The present disclosure discloses a method and device for removing Organic Micropollutants (OMPs) in water, and belongs to the technical field of wastewater treatment. The method includes the following steps: S1: aerating residual sludge under a starvation condition to enrich starved-state microorganisms; and S2: treating wastewater containing OMPs under an aeration condition with sludge containing the starved-state microorganisms obtained in step S1, and periodically updating the sludge containing the starved-state microorganisms. According to the present disclosure, aerobic starvation treatment is performed on the sludge to gradually reduce the abundance of microorganisms that may use degradable organic matters only and enrich microorganisms that may use complex organic matters in the sludge, and the enriched sludge may degrade various OMPs and be used to remove OMPs in wastewater. The process is easy to operate and low in cost and has relatively high practical application value.
