BIOLOGICAL AEROBIC ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS WITH HYDRODYNAMIC SOLID SEPARATION, AND HYDRODYNAMIC SEPARATOR FOR USE IN AN EFFLUENT TREATMENT STATION
A method and device used for treating effluents by the biological aerobic activated sludge process with hydrodynamic separation, sludge collection, internal sludge recirculation and atmospheric air or oxygen dissolution functions implemented by a device that accumulates the functions of solids retention and gas dissolution in the biological reactor, increasing the hydraulic load capacity of the secondary settler, as well as the load absorption capacity of the biological reactor, thus almost doubling the treatment capacity in relation to a conventional activated sludge process.
Effluent elevator system and methods of using
The invention is a system of raising an effluent level of a septic system drainfield. The system includes an outer housing comprising an inlet in fluid communication with a septic tank. The housing further includes an outlet that enables the effluent to exit the system at a higher elevation. The housing interior includes a hollow insert that extends above a bottom surface of the housing. A baffle is positioned within the interior of the housing to surround the insert, dividing the housing interior into two compartments with insert passing therethrough. In use, wastewater effluent enters the housing interior from a septic tank and gravity falls into the bottom of the housing. An air pump can then be initiated to pump air into the system, which lifts the effluent into the housing upper compartment, where it will exit the system at a higher elevation.

MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR, METHOD OF OPERATING A MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR, AND USE OF A MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR
Membrane bioreactor (2) for treating of sewage that includes a first and second bioreaction vessel (4, 6). The first bioreaction vessel (4) includes a first vessel wall (14) for enclosing an internal first vessel space. The second bioreaction vessel (6) includes a second vessel wall (26) for enclosing an internal second vessel space. The first vessel wall (14) includes a convex first peripheral vessel wall part and a first inner vessel wall part (22). The second vessel wall (26) includes a convex second peripheral vessel wall part and a second inner vessel wall part (30). The first vessel wall (14) and the second vessel wall (26) are mechanically connected to each other by means of a vessel connection structure (90). The vessel connection structure (90) positions the first and second peripheral vessel wall parts relative to each other during the treating of sewage.
Upflow continuous backwash filter
An upflow continuous backwash deep bed sand filter (UCBF) having a recycle line for returning carbonaceous denitrifying bacteria attached to biomass to the influent of the UCBF. The recycle line returns the biomass to the treatment process at a location upstream of the upflow continuous backwash filter. Further, a liquid level control unit is provided that reduces fluctuations and significant drop in the liquid level upstream of the upflow continuous backwash filter, thereby avoiding or minimizing flow turbulences, air induction, and undesirable wastewater aeration resulting in the need to dose excessive carbon source to remove dissolved oxygen in the aerated wastewater.
BDP sewage denitrogenation treatment system and method for sewage denitrogenation treatment
The present invention provides Biological Double efficiency Product (BDP) sewage denitrogenation treatment systems and methods.
METHOD FOR BIOLOGICAL WASTEWATER PURIFICATION WITH PHOSPHOROUS REMOVAL
The invention relates to a method for carrying out biological purification of wastewater with the aid of activated sludge, in which the wastewater is introduced into an activated sludge tank (B tank) and then, in alternation, into one of a number of sedimentation and recirculation tanks (SU tanks) continuously connected hydraulically to the B tank and in which a number of operating cycles are carried out, including a sludge return phase, a mixing phase, a sedimentation phase and a draw-off phase (S phase, U phase, V phase, and A phase respectively), wherein the method further includes elimination of phosphor by using a tank for biological phosphor elimination (P tank), wherein the P tank is hydraulically connected with the B tank via one or more openings, wherein the wastewater is first introduced into the P tank and then subsequently transferred into the B tank, wherein in the S phase at least part of the thickened activated sludge is introduced from the SU tank into the P tank, and, wherein the volume of the P tank is mixed permanently or intermittently.
ORGANIC WASTEWATER TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR OPERATING ORGANIC WASTEWATER TREATMENT APPARATUS
An organic wastewater treatment apparatus for biologically treating nitrogen-containing organic wastewater in activated sludge includes: a biological treatment tank at least including an anoxic tank and an aerobic tank, the aerobic tank having a membrane separator immersed in activated sludge therein, the membrane separator being configured to repeat a filtration operation and a filtration pause; a sludge return path configured to return activated sludge from the aerobic tank to the anoxic tank; an air release pipe provided to the aerobic tank; and a switching mechanism configured to switch between supplying air to an aerator provided to the membrane separator and supplying air to the air release pipe. The apparatus is configured to, based on a DO value of the aerobic tank, supply air selectively either to the air release pipe or to the aerator via the switching mechanism during a filtration pause of the membrane separator.
DUAL RETURN ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS IN A FLOW-EQUALIZED WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A common final clarifier is provided downstream of a two-stage or three-stage activated sludge (AS) system that includes: (A) one or more flow equalization basin (FEB) reactors and a nitritation reactor as the first AS stage, and an anammox reactor as the second AS stage, or (B) a carbonaceous biological oxygen demand (BOD) removal reactor and one or more FEBs as the first AS stage, a nitritation reactor as the second AS stage, and an anammox reactor as the third AS stage. A first return activated sludge (RAS) flow is conducted from the final clarifier to the first AS stage and a second segregated RAS flow is conducted to the second AS stage. Alternatively, a third segregated RAS flow is conducted to the third AS stage.
