UV light source having combined ionization and formation of excimers
The invention relates to a device for producing UV light. Said device provides light from light sources that operate in accordance with different physical principles. The device comprises a chamber having several gas-filled plasma chambers (11, 12), wherein the chamber has at least one area (37, 39) transparent to UV light and/or VUV light. A first group (11) of plasma chambers is filled with an ionizable gas containing mercury and a second group (12) of plasma chambers is filled with a gas that forms excimers when suitably excited.

A water container for purifying water. The water container includes an opening configured to receive water, a container body arranged to enclose the water and a water purifying unit configured to purify the water. The water purifying unit includes an at least partially transparent plate, which includes a coating of metal-oxide nanoparticles on a first side facing the container body, wherein the first side is configured to be in contact with the water, and an ultraviolet light module configured to radiate towards a second side of the at least partially transparent plate such that light from the ultraviolet light module at least partially passes through the at least partially transparent plate. In one aspect, a sterilization apparatus is provided to include a flow channel body comprising an inflow unit configured to provide an inflow channel through which water flows in one direction, a discharge unit configured to provide a discharge channel through which water is discharged, and a bypass channel unit configured to provide a bypass channel through which water bypasses in a different direction from the direction of the water flowing in the inflow unit; a mounting unit formed on the flow channel body and configured to provide an installation space connected to the bypass channel, a UV light emitting unit disposed in the installation space and configured to emit UV light towards the bypass channel; and a holder coupled to the mounting unit and securing the UV light emitting unit inside the mounting unit.

Water purification cap
A water purification cap for covering a water bottle is provided. The cap may include a barrel and a shell. The shell may surround a first end of the barrel. The cap may include a charging site. The charging site may be integral to the shell. The charging site may include a positive pole, a negative pole and an RGB ring. The RGB ring may insulate between the positive pole and the negative pole. The RGB ring may display colors that indicate a status of the cap. The cap may include a UV-C LED. The UV-C LED may be proximal to a second end of the barrel. The light emitted from the UV-C LED may be UV-C rays. The UV-C rays may be in the range of 100-280 nanometers. The cap may include a touch sensor. When touched, the touch sensor may activate the UV-C LED.

An ultraviolet irradiation unit of the present invention includes a casing, a light source emitting ultraviolet rays arranged in the casing, an ultraviolet transmitting body arranged between an ultraviolet emission opening of the casing and the light source. The casing has an outer diameter dimension that enables the casing to fit within a bore of a joint connected to a flow channel pipe.

There is provided a photoreactor for the remediation of gaseous emissions and/or contaminated water using ultraviolet (UV) or vacuum ultraviolet (VUV). There is also provided an emission source for generating UV and/or VUV, the source comprising: a microwave generator; a chamber arranged to receive microwaves generated by the microwave generator, the chamber comprising: a gas comprising species for forming excimers; a resonator arranged to receive the microwaves in the chamber and generate a plasma; a first electrode spaced apart from the resonator; and a voltage source configured to generate an electric field between the resonator and the first electrode, wherein, on application of the electric field, the electric field drives electrons and/or ions from the plasma to generate excimers and produce vacuum ultraviolet or ultraviolet emission. There are also provided methods of generating UV and/or VUV, and methods of remediating fluids.
Liquid treatment method and apparatus
A method and apparatus for treating a liquid using ultraviolet radiation. A thin flow of liquid in a supercritical flow is irradiated by at least one radiation source external to the thin flow. The flow may desirably have a Froude number greater than 3 and a velocity greater than 0.8 m/s. The apparatus for treating a liquid including may have a reservoir supplying liquid though a slot into an open channel to generate a thin flow of liquid having a supercritical flow along the channel with at least one radiation source external to the thin flow to irradiate the thin flow.
