The inventive device efficiently cools, with a simple construction, heat generated from an ultraviolet light-emitting diode (UV-LED). The UV-LED is accommodated in a housing that has an open end and an ultraviolet-transparent closing end. A portion of the housing adjacent to the closing end contacts to-be-treated liquid, ultraviolet rays generated from the UV-LED are irradiated to the to-be-treated liquid, and the housing is cooled by the to-be-treated liquid. In this way, the heat generated from the UV-LED can be cooled with a simple construction without use of arrangements for introducing dedicated cooling fluid for cooling the UV-LED. A heat discharge block for discharging to the outside the heat generated from the UV-LED may be provided at or adjacent to the open end of the housing. Further, the present invention may be constructed in such a manner that a portion of the discharge section directly contacts the to-be-treated liquid.

The hollow body is configured for receiving the UV module, and to communicate with at least one end of a pipe structure such that a medium passing therethrough will not leak. The hollow body has an inner surface and an outer surface; the inner surface includes one or more interior structures defined by one or more partition walls for sub-dividing hollow space of the hollow body into at least two relatively smaller hollow spaces. The UV module comprises one or more UV LED arrays arranged independently or severally on the inner surface and/or the interior structures to increase UV exposure to the medium. The control module is remotely connected to the UV module outside the hollow body.

Germicidal lamps surround a target such as air, water, food (meats, plants), fabric (masks, towels), space, utility and soil to kill pests, parasites, insects and pathogenic spores. Said invention also develops seed germination. Water converts gas (MVOC) to liquid and arrests airborne contaminants. A blower drives them to water to enable the use of optimal dosage of UVC light. By either UVC-irradiating water or oxidizing water, pathogens are destroyed in the water chamber. Filters activate spore dispersal when disposed by burning. By not using potentially hazardous waste or an air outlet, pathogenic spores cannot reproduce or return to the environment.

The present application discloses a process for removing a substantial amount of phenolic compounds in waste water as solid substances. The present application also discloses an oxidation system for removing a substantial amount of phenolic compounds in waste water by the process of photocatalytic induced polymerization. The oxidation system includes a chemical dosing tank for adding a catalyst into the waste water; an ultraviolet (UV) reactor communicatively coupled to the chemical dosing tank for oxidizing the phenolic compounds into insoluble sediments; and a sedimentation tank communicatively coupled to the ultraviolet (UV) reactor for removing the insoluble sediments from the wastewater. The present application also discloses a process flow for removing the phenolic compounds in wastewater with the said system.

A method and apparatus for producing hydroxyl radicals in a fluid chamber in an electrochemical cell comprising at least one cathode, at least one anode and at least one source of photolyzing radiation. The method comprises causing an electrochemical cell to produce hydrogen peroxide in the fluid, and causing at least one photolyzing radiation source, such as UV-LED, to photolyze the hydrogen peroxide to produce hydroxyl radicals. The fluid treatment apparatus includes: a structure defining a fluid chamber; at least one cathode facing into the fluid chamber; at least one anode facing into the fluid chamber; and a photolyzing radiation source operable to emit photolyzing radiation into at least one electrochemical cell portion of the fluid chamber, which is suitable for producing hydrogen peroxide.
