Glass piece and methods of manufacturing glass pieces and semiconductor devices with glass pieces

A semiconductor element is formed in a mesa portion of a semiconductor substrate. A cavity is formed in a working surface of the semiconductor substrate. The semiconductor substrate is brought in contact with a glass piece made of a glass material and having a protrusion. The glass piece and the semiconductor substrate are arranged such that the protrusion extends into the cavity. The glass piece is bonded to the semiconductor substrate. The glass piece is in-situ bonded to the semiconductor substrate by pressing the glass piece against the semiconductor substrate. During the pressing a temperature of the glass piece exceeds a glass transition temperature and the temperature and a force exerted on the glass piece are controlled to fluidify the glass material and after re-solidifying the protrusion completely fills the cavity.

20210101819 · 2021-04-08 ·

A curved glass manufacturing method includes: successively stacking a lower mold, flat glass, and an upper mold, thereby forming a mold assembly; moving the mold assembly to a first chamber and then heating the same; moving the mold assembly from the first chamber to a second chamber and then pressurizing the upper mold so as to move the upper mold downward, thereby molding the flat glass in a curved shape; moving the mold assembly from the second chamber to a third chamber and then slowly cooling the molded glass; and moving the mold assembly from the third chamber to a fourth chamber and then cooling the molded glass. An elastic member is arranged between the lower mold and the upper mold and configured to define a space between the upper mold and the flat glass, and the elastic member is compressed when the upper mold is pressurized.

CURVED GLASS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

The present disclosure relates to curved cover glass used for a curved display, and a manufacturing method thereof. The present disclosure provides tempered glass comprising: glass including a curved area; and a low-reflection coating layer, coated on a surface of the glass, composed of a mixture of a binder and a hollow material, wherein the glass comprises potassium ions which penetrate up to a predetermined depth therein. According to the present disclosure, a low-reflection coating layer is formed prior to curved surface processing, and thus, the low-reflection coating layer can be uniformly formed even on areas having different curvatures. Thus, the present disclosure can minimize the color difference generated in curved glass due to low-reflection coating layers.

A production apparatus making continuously curved crystalline glass as a cover or container includes a melting device, a drainage device, a molding device, and a crystallizing device. The melting device melts glass raw material to form a glass melt. The drainage device drains the glass melt to the molding device. The molding device includes a rotating table and a plurality of molding molds thereon. Each molding mold can be moved toward or away from the drainage device by the rotating table. Each molding mold has a molding cavity. At least one part of the molding cavity includes a plane, and at least one part of the molding cavity includes a curved surface to extrude the glass melt with such different surface forms. The crystallizing device crystallizes the curved glass member to achieve the curved crystallized glass member. A method for manufacturing such glass is also provided.
