GLASS CONTAINER FOR PHARMACEUTICAL, MEDICAL OR COSMETIC APPLICATIONS
A glass container includes a hollow body of a glass material. The hollow body surrounds an inner volume and has a lower end and an upper end. A container opening extends through the upper end into the inner volume. The hollow body further includes a container collar surrounding the container opening, a container neck, a container shoulder, a container body, a container bottom closing the lower end, and an inner container surface facing the inner volume and an outer container surface facing away from the inner volume. The glass container is coated on its outer container surface at least partially with a coating and the coated glass container has an increased scratch resistance with respect to a contact of the glass container with at least one further glass container.
METHODS OF FORMING AN ANTIREFLECTIVE LAYER ON A COMPLEX SUBSTRATE AND COMPLEX SUBSTRATES HAVING THE ANTIREFLECTIVE LAYER
Described herein are antireflective layers, methods for forming antireflective layers, and structures including antireflective layers. Methods are included for forming a durable antireflective layer on the surface of a substrate, wherein the substrate has a complex three-dimensional shape, wherein the durable antireflective layer comprises a uniform monolayer of silica nanoparticles interconnected by SiO.sub.2, a uniform monolayer of silica nanoparticles bonded to the surface of the substrate, or a combination thereof.
Glass articles with low-friction coatings
Coated pharmaceutical packages are disclosed. The coated pharmaceutical packages may include a glass body comprising a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The glass body may be a glass container formed from a borosilicate glass composition and the first surface is an exterior surface of the glass container. A low-friction coating may be positioned on at least a portion of the first surface of the glass body. In embodiments, the low-friction coating may be a fluoropolymer.
Glass articles with low-friction coatings
Coated glass pharmaceutical packages are disclosed. According to embodiments, a coated glass pharmaceutical package may include a glass container formed from one of a borosilicate glass composition that meets Type 1 criteria according to USP <660> or an alkali aluminosilicate glass having a Class HGA 1 hydrolytic resistance when tested according to the ISO 720-1985 testing standard. A low-friction coating may be bonded to the exterior surface of the glass container. The low-friction coating may include a polymer. The exterior surface of the glass container with the low-friction coating may have a coefficient of friction of less than or equal to 0.7. The coated glass pharmaceutical package may be thermally stable after depyrogenation in air at a temperature of at least about 260° C. for 30 minutes.
Antireflection film and its use on a substrate
This disclosure relates to an antireflection film, as well as its use on a substrate (3) to decrease a fracture of light striking the substrate (3) reflected by said substrate (3), wherein said coating is formed of a transparent first layer (1) applied on the substrate (3) and a transparent second layer (2) on said first layer (1). The essence of the solutions according to this disclosure is that thickness (d.sub.1) of the first layer (1) ranges from 10 to 70 nm and refractive index (n.sub.1) of said first layer (1) satisfies the relation 1.05<n.sub.1<1.35 within the wavelength range of 375 to 1000 nm, and wherein thickness (d.sub.2) of the second layer (2) ranges from 30 to 100 nm and refractive index (n.sub.2) of said second layer (2) satisfies the relation 1.25<n.sub.2<1.5 within the wavelength range of 375 to 1000 nm, and wherein n.sub.1<n.sub.2 also holds.
METHOD FOR TREATING A GLASS-WALLED CONTAINER AND CORRESPONDING APPARATUS
The invention relates to a method, and to an associated apparatus, for treating a container (1) comprising a glass wall (2) defining a receiving cavity (3) for receiving a product, said glass wall (2) having an inner face (4) and an opposite outer face (5), said glass wall (2) being provided with a first coating that includes a solid residual compound resulting from a step of dealkalization of the glass in the vicinity of the surface of said inner face (4) of said glass wall (2) to which said container (1) had previously been subjected, said method comprising a step of spraying the surface of said glass wall (2) with droplets of a liquid, in order to form on said glass wall (2), starting from said first coating, a second coating which includes said residual compound and which is more transparent and/or more uniform than said first coating. -Treatment of glass-walled containers.
COATED SUBSTRATE AND PROCESS OF PREPARATION
A coated glass substrate comprising: a transparent glass substrate coated with a blocking layer comprising a material having Si—O—Si bonds, a polyol and/or diol and a blocking component, wherein the blocking component is a material that is capable of blocking electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range 10-500 nm.
Method of increasing the resistance to internal pressure of a glass container
A method for coating glass containers provides improved tensile strength (hence improved resistance to internal pressure). The method lends itself in particular to implementation as part of a continuous production process by utilising residual heat from the bottle casting step. The use of residual heat from an existing process offer considerable environmental benefits.
UV-curing primer composition for the coating of glass
The invention relates to a UV-curing primer composition for the coating of glass, in particular glass hollow bodies, wherein the primer composition, in addition to reactive oligomers and/or reactive monomers and at least one photoinitiator, comprises at least one organosilane, which possesses at least one acetoxy radical, in particular 1 to 4 acetoxy radicals. The invention further relates to use of at least one organosilane for providing a UV-cured primer layer on glass and/or an ink layer on glass, a method for coating glass, a substrate coated with a UV-cured primer layer, an ink and a kit.
Method of manufacturing a solar heat collection pipe
A method of manufacturing a solar heat collection pipe includes an inner circumferential film forming step of forming an antireflection film on an inner surface of a glass pipe and an outer circumferential film forming step of forming an antireflection film on an outer surface of the glass pipe. These film forming steps are performed so that a part of a coating film through which a coating material is flowed when the coating material is discharged from the glass pipe in a coating material discharging step of the inner circumferential film forming step and a part of a coating film with which the coating material is in contact when the glass pipe is lifted from the coating material in a lifting step of the outer circumferential film forming step are positioned within a half circumference of the glass pipe in a circumferential direction of the glass pipe.
