USE OF FATTY ACID-MODIFIED RESINS TO CONFER ANTI-FINGERPRINT PROPERTY TO A GLASS SHEET
20190055159 · 2019-02-21 · ·

The invention relates to the use of a coating comprising at least one fatty-acid modified resin as an anti-fingerprint coating on a least one face of a glass sheet. In particular, the invention allows to provide an anti-fingerprint solution to be used for a glass sheet, which does not significantly affect the surface properties and the aesthetics of the coated glass compared to the naked glass. Moreover, the invention allows to provide an anti-fingerprint solution to be used for a glass sheet, which is sustainable in time and/or wearing of the surface.

Method for preventing a photocatalyst from decreasing in hydrophilicity
10201808 · 2019-02-12 · ·

Disclosed is a method for preventing a photocatalyst from decreasing in hydrophilicity due to contamination by components seeping from a sealing material for anchoring a construction material, exterior material, glass structure, or other article on which a photocatalyst layer is formed. In said method, a transparent sealing-material-component seepage-prevention layer, which contains a modified epoxy resin comprising polymerizable unsaturated monomers graft-polymerized onto or copolymerized with an epoxy resin, is formed on the surface of the sealing material. Said polymerizable unsaturated monomers include a carboxyl-group-containing monomer, and a modified epoxy resin obtained by a carboxyl-group/epoxy-group reaction after graft polymerization or copolymerization is more favorable.

Disclosed is a process for producing a film-coated substrate having a relatively flat distribution of film thickness such that the film thickness is suppressed from s gradually increasing toward a downstream side of flow of a coating liquid even when a coating film is formed on a plate-shaped substrate by a flow coating method in which the substrate is held in raised attitude. The film-coated substrate according to the present invention is employed in particular as an openable/closable window glass of an automotive door, and is suitable for one where the substrate includes an uncoated region where no coating film is formed, wherein the uncoated region is configured to be received in a receiving part of an upper frame of the door.
