Insulating Material and Method of its Production
An insulating material, especially a non-flammable thermally insulating material containing water glass and a plastic component consisting of a mixture containing 43 to 57.5 weight percent of a plastic component, 30 to 47 weight percent of an aqueous solution of silicate, 9 to 11.5 weight percent of hollow glass microspheres, and 0.1 to 1 weight percent of a water glass stabilizer. Method of production of the insulating material, especially method of production of the non-flammable thermally insulating material lying in the fact that, as the first step, a water glass stabilizer is added into the aqueous solution of silicate and, at the same time, a mixture of phenyl methyl diisocyanate and branched polyol is prepared and then the aqueous solution of silicate is intermixed with the mixture of phenyl methyl diisocyanate and branched polyol and thereafter hollow glass spheres are added into the resulting mixture and everything is then thoroughly mixed again.
Insulation Material and a Method for its Production
An insulating material, in particular a permeable fire-proof insulating material comprising water glass and which is composed of a air harden-able compound which contains 2 to 40 wt % of plastic balls, 55 to 95.0 wt % of aqueous sodium silicate solution, 2 to 6 wt % of aluminium hydroxide, and 0.1 to 0.5 wt % water glass stabiliser. A method for the production of insulating material, in particular a method for the production of permeable fire-proof insulating material comprising water glass and plastic balls, according to which firstly the plastic balls are mixed with an aqueous solution of carbon black so as to coat their entire surface, then is added to the aqueous sodium silicate solution aluminium hydroxide and the whole is mixed so as to form an insulating mixture, and then a water glass stabiliser is added to the aqueous sodium silicate solution, and then to this solution is mixed water glass hardener, with this solution being further stirred for 1 to 10 minutes to form a binder solution, and the insulating mixture is added to the binder solution with constant stirring, and the whole is mixed, and the resulting mixture is then poured into the application site.

Method for monitoring cement using polymer-based capsules
Embodiments provide a method for monitoring structural integrity of a hardened cement. An aramide capsule, a cement, and a water to form a cement slurry. The cement slurry is set to form a hardened cement, where the aramide capsule is embedded in the hardened cement. Imperfections of the hardened cement are detected by measuring electrical resistivity of the hardened cement. The aramide capsule is formed by interfacial polymerization using a surfactant, a dispersed monomer, a crosslinker such that a semi-permeable membrane is formed surrounding a core.
