A ceramic waveguide includes: a doped metal oxide ceramic core layer; and at least one cladding layer comprising the metal oxide surrounding the core layer, such that the core layer includes an erbium dopant and at least one rare earth metal dopant being: lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, thulium, ytterbium, lutetium, scandium, or oxides thereof, or at least one non-rare earth metal dopant comprising zirconium or oxides thereof. SPUTTERING TARGET AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SPUTTERING TARGET
[Object] To provide a sputtering target for producing an oxide semiconductor thin film having high properties, which serves as a substitute for IGZO, and a method of producing the same.
[Solving Means] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, a sputtering target according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an oxide sintered body including indium, tin, and germanium, in which an atom ratio of germanium with respect to a total of indium, tin, and germanium is 0.07 or more and 0.40 or less, and an atom ratio of tin with respect to the total of indium, tin, and germanium is 0.04 or more and 0.60 or less. As a result, it is possible to achieve transistor characteristics of having mobility of 10 cm.sup.2/Vs or more.

The non-magnetic part has an Fe content of 36.0 to 48.5 mol % in terms of Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, a Zn content of 46.0 to 57.5 mol % in terms of ZnO, a V content of 0.5 to 5.0 mol % in terms of V.sub.2O.sub.5, a Mn content of 0 to 7.5 mol % in terms of Mn.sub.2O.sub.3, and a Cu content of 0 to 5.0 mol % in terms of CuO with respect to the sum of the Fe content in terms of Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, the Zn content in terms of ZnO, the V content in terms of V.sub.2O.sub.5, and if present, the Cu content in terms of CuO, and the Mn content in terms of Mn.sub.2O.sub.3.
Green ceramic tapes and method for their fabrication
“Green”, ceramic tapes intended as building blocks for making complex, fully ceramic components and devices for electronic-, lab-on-chip-, and sensing applications, the manufacture of which comprises in sequence: I. mixing of a ceramic “green” paste, II. homogenisation of a ceramic “green” paste, III. dimensioning and optionally structuring the ceramic “green” paste, IV. drying of the dimensioned and structured ceramic paste, in which: step iii) is performed in a combination of an extruder and a calender, the extruder being provided with a circular extrusion die, splitting and unfolding the extruded tube to a flat, continuous tape strip, using methylcellulose or derivatives thereof as binder, and, an additional step chosen among cutting and punching the thus dimensioned and optionally structured “green” paste, thereby making thick, “green” tapes. A method for its manufacture is also contemplated.

A ceramic substrate for an electrochemical element that includes a ceramic layer and a high-thermal-expansion-coefficient material layer that is laminated on the surface of the ceramic layer. The high-thermal-expansion-coefficient material layer has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than the ceramic layer, and applies compressive stress to the ceramic layer.
