A method of operating a surgical anchoring system can include inserting an outer sleeve of a surgical instrument at least partially into a first natural body lumen, the outer sleeve having a working channel. The method can include inserting a channel arm of the surgical instrument through the working channel of the outer sleeve and into a second natural body lumen. The channel arm has at least one first anchor member coupled thereto and a control actuator operatively coupled to the at least one first anchor member. The method can include expanding the at least one first anchor member from an unexpanded state to an expanded state to form an anchor point at a portion of the second natural body lumen. The method can include controlling, by the control actuator, a motion of the channel arm to selectively manipulate an organ associated with the first and second natural body lumens.

There is provided an examination support device with which, in a screening examination that uses an endoscope, an image that should be acquired can be reliably acquired and discomfort of a subject can be reduced. The examination support device includes an acquisition unit that sequentially acquires a captured image captured by a camera unit inserted in a body of a subject, a determination unit that determines whether the captured image acquired by the acquisition unit matches any of scheduled images that should be acquired, a detection unit that detects a timing of removal of the camera unit from an examination part based on the captured image acquired by the acquisition unit, and a warning unit that issues a warning in a case where there remains, at the timing detected by the detection unit, the scheduled images for which match is not determined by the determination unit.

WIRELESS NERVE INTEGRITY MONITORING SYSTEMS AND DEVICES

A nerve integrity monitoring device includes a control module and a physical layer module. The control module is configured to generate a payload request. The payload request (i) requests a data payload from a sensor in a wireless nerve integrity monitoring network, and (ii) indicates whether a stimulation probe device is to generate a stimulation pulse. The physical layer module is configured to (i) wirelessly transmit the payload request to the sensor and the stimulation probe device, or (ii) transmit the payload request to a console interface module. The physical layer module is also configured to, in response to the payload request, (i) receive the data payload from the sensor, and (ii) receive stimulation pulse information from the stimulation probe device. The data payload includes data corresponding to an evoked response of a patient. The evoked response is generated based on the stimulation pulse.

In an imaging system, a differential signal transmission circuit is configured to output a first signal to a first signal line in an image output period and is configured to output a second signal to a second signal line in the image output period. The first signal and the second signal are included in a differential signal. A signal output circuit is configured to output a second clock signal to the first signal line in a blanking period different from the image output period and is configured to output a second control signal to the second signal line in the blanking period. In a PLL, connection between a charge pump and a loop filter is controlled on the basis of the second control signal output to the second signal line.

Systems and Methods for Detecting Potential Malignancies

One or more machine learning techniques can be used to identify locations of potential malignancies within images (e.g., video images) captured during a medical procedure, such as an endoscopic procedure. The images can be displayed, in real-time, on a display unit. The images can be displayed with a graphical overlay that isolates the identified locations of potential malignancies

A medical image processing apparatus includes an image acquisition unit that acquires a medical image, a classifier that classifies the medical image or a region of interest included in the medical image into any of two or more classes based on a feature amount obtained from the medical image, a reliability calculation unit that calculates reliability of a classification result of the medical image or the region of interest from the classifier, and a confirmation unit that confirms the classification result of the medical image or the region of interest based on the calculated reliability.

Endoscopic image enhancement system and method

The invention provides an image color enhancement system, method, storage medium and endoscope. Since the human skin color and the basic tone of endoscopic image are similar, a data set of Macbeth color card is utilized to generate a color correction matrix for skin color enhancement. The color correction matrix is used by an endoscope for real time image capture, resulting in a vivid expression of the basic tone of an endoscopic image without introducing artifacts in other tonal image parts.

This electronic endoscope system includes an evaluation unit that evaluates an extent of a lesion by processing an image inside an organ image-captured by an electronic endoscope. The evaluation unit includes: an image evaluation value calculation unit that calculates an image evaluation value for the captured image; a lesion evaluation unit that calculates a representative evaluation value of image evaluation values from the image evaluation value for each of a plurality of spaces to evaluate the spread of the lesion; and a lesion evaluation adjustment unit that sets, for an empty section for which a representative evaluation value is not generated, as an estimated representative evaluation value, one image evaluation value for a non-empty section, or a representative evaluation value obtained on the basis of the image evaluation value, and that assigns the estimated representative evaluation value to the empty section.

Endoscope device and measurement support method

An endoscope device includes a signal processing unit that processes a captured image signal, which is obtained by imaging a subject through an imaging optical system including an objective lens of an endoscope, to generates captured image, an auxiliary measurement light emitting unit that emits planar auxiliary measurement light from the distal end part, a display control unit that causes a display unit to display the captured image including an intersection line formed in a portion where a plane formed by the auxiliary measurement light intersects the subject. The auxiliary measurement light emitting unit emits the auxiliary measurement light in a state where the plane and an optical axis intersects each light at one specific point on the optical axis of the objective lens. A distance from a distal end part of the objective lens of the one specific point is 5 mm or more and 20 mm or less.
