Head mounted display device for use in a medical facility
A head-mounted display device for interface with a medical device configured to perform an invasive procedure on a patient, such as a blood component collection, an infusion, a feeding operation, etc.
Clutch system for flexible endoscopes
An endoscopic system may include an endoscope including a handle and an elongate shaft extending distally therefrom. The handle may include a non-motorized and non-ratcheting actuation mechanism configured to articulate a distal tip portion of the elongate shaft. The distal tip portion may be articulatable in response to a manually applied force exerted upon the actuation mechanism. Removal of the manually applied force may lock the distal tip portion in its then-current configuration. The non-motorized and non-ratcheting actuation mechanism may include a clutch mechanism actuatable in response to an electrical signal generated in response to sensing a user-applied force to the actuating mechanism by a strain gauge.
APPARATUS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR INTRAOPERATIVE VISUALIZATION
Errors in a blended stream that would result in non-display or obscuring of a live video stream from a medical device may be automatically detected, and a failover stream corresponding to the first live video stream may be displayed to medical personnel. For example, one or more second input streams that are being blended may contain no data or invalid data which may result in the blended stream not displaying (or obscuring) the live video stream (if the blended were displayed). Switching from blending to a failover buffer may occur within the time to process a single video image frame. Upon detection (prior to display) that the blended stream would not display the live video stream, display of the live video stream from the failover buffer may be initiated. Other aspects are also described and claimed.
MEDICAL VISUALISATION DEVICE WITH WIRELESS TRANSMISSION
A medical visualisation system including a medical visualisation device having: an image sensor configured to generate image data, a light emitter, a device processing unit configured to receive the image data from the image sensor and encode the image data to provide encoded image data based on the image data, and a device wireless transceiver configured to communicate with a monitor wireless transceiver of a monitor device, the device wireless transceiver being configured to receive the encoded image data from the device processing unit and transmit the encoded image data using a downstream data channel from the device wireless transceiver to the monitor wireless transceiver and to receive settings data using an upstream data channel from the monitor wireless transceiver to the device wireless transceiver.
REGISTRATION OF A SURGICAL IMAGE ACQUISITION DEVICE USING CONTOUR SIGNATURES
Registration of a surgical image acquisition device (e.g. an endoscope) using preoperative and live contour signatures of an anatomical object is described. A control unit includes a processor configured to compare the real-time contour signature to the database of preoperative contour signatures of the anatomical object to generate a group of potential contour signature matches for selection of a final contour match. Registration of an image acquisition device to the surgical site is realized based upon an orientation corresponding to the selected final contour signature match.
ARTHROSCOPIC SYSTEM WITH DISPOSABLE ARTHROSCOPE HAVING IMAGE ROTATION FUNCTION AND METHOD THEREOF
The present application provides an arthroscopic system, which comprises an disposable arthroscope having a distal end and a proximal end, and comprising a light source, a lens set, an image sensor, a transmitter, and a control interface. The present application eliminates the possibility of infecting the patient with contaminated devices by its cost-effectively disposable arthroscope. The present application also provides a method for image rotating in an arthroscopic system.
ELECTROSTATIC TOUCH ASSEMBLY OF LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE FOR ENDOSCOPE AND ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
Disclosed is a light source device for endoscope including: a front panel which includes a touch portion and a display portion; a touch board which is disposed in a rear side of the front panel, and comprises an electrostatic touch sensor that is located in a position corresponding to the touch portion and detects an input generated in the touch portion; a light source board which is disposed in a rear side of the touch board, and comprises a light source configured to irradiate light to at least one of the display portion and the touch portion; and a guide unit which is provided between the touch board and the light source board, and guides the light irradiated from the light source.
Orbital angular momentum and fluorescence- based microendoscope spectroscopy for cancer diagnosis
An apparatus for performing an endoscopic procedure for detecting cancerous tissue includes a detection probe for detecting the cancerous tissue. The detection probe includes a first fiber for emitting an ultraviolet light beam having an orthogonal function applied thereto and a second fiber for receiving emissions from tissues responsive to the ultraviolet light beam emitted for the first fiber. An ultraviolet emission source generates the ultraviolet light beam. Orthogonal function circuitry applies the orthogonal function twist to the ultraviolet light beam. Detection circuitry detects fluorescence and orthogonal function within the emissions from the tissues received over the second fiber.
Solid state variable direction of view endoscope
An endoscope with a wide angle lens that comprises an optical axis that is angularly offset from a longitudinal axis of the endoscope such that the optical axis resides at an angle greater than zero degrees to the longitudinal axis. The wide angle lens system simultaneously gathers an endoscopic image field, the endoscopic image field at least spanning the longitudinal axis and an angle greater than ninety degrees to the longitudinal axis. The endoscope includes an optical lens system to at least partially even out the information density across an imaging surface area of the imager.
